    Abstract: An electron gun is provided, in which a capacitance between a cathode and other electrodes, especially a control electrode is reduced largely without substantially changing a structure for supporting the cathode with an insulator. The cathode (11) of this electron gun is disposed inside of the cylindrical metal shell (5). The cathode (11) and the cylindrical metal shell (5) are connected by three metal tabs (4). The cylindrical metal shell (5) fits into a hole formed in the center portion of the insulator (7), and a metal outer frame (6) is attached to the periphery of the insulator (7). The metal outer frame (6) is welded to the inner surface of a cathode metal support (8). There is a control electrode (14') facing the electron emitting surface of the cathode (11) at a predetermined distance. Plural electrodes including an accelerating electrode (12) are disposed in turn beyond the control electrode (14). Peripheries of the cathode metal support (8), control electrode (14), an accelerating electrode (12) and other electrodes are embedded into sides of a pair of supporting rods (13) that extend axially, so that the electrodes are fixed with a predetermined space between the electrodes.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a cathode-ray tube to realize a long lifetime of a heater and stable production by ensuring uniformity of an alumina insulating layer and stability of a suspension for electrodeposition. SOLUTION: This is a manufacturing method of a cathode-ray tube that a heater 2, which is made by forming an alumina insulating layer 4 made of alumina powders on a metallic wire 3 as a heater main metal by means of an electrophoresis, is provided inside a cathode part of an electron gun. Alumina powders are suspended in a fixed liquid to form a suspension for electrodeposition after cleaning the alumina powders with warm running water, and the alumina insulating layer 4 made of alumina powders is formed on the metallic wire 3 by means of an electrophoresis.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front face panel structure having sufficient leakage field suppressing effect even with a conductive film having high resistance by forming a closed loop composed of a conductive material surrounding an efficient screen region in the front face panel, and by connecting the closed loop to a reinforced band so as to be grounded as a circuit. SOLUTION: A front face panel 1 is formed with a surface treatment film composed of a bottommost-layer conductive film and two layers of low reflecting films placed thereon on its surface and an explosion-proof metal reinforced band 7 is installed in its circumference. A conductive tape 5 made of Al is affixed into a closed loop as surrounding an effective screen region 9 on the surface of the surface treatment film and two conductive tapes 5 are independently affixed to each long sides 12 and short sides 13. The log sides 12 are conducted with the reinforcing band 7, the short sides 13 are formed by affixing the conductive tapes 5 across the both of the surface treatment film and the short sides of the reinforcing band 7, and the conducive tapes 5 are grounded through the reinforcing band 7. Even a conductive film having a resistance value 1×103 Ω/(square) or more can provide a leakage field suppression effect.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube suited for high-frequency scanning by minimizing the electrostatic capacitance between a cathode and an array of electrodes constituting an electron gun, particularly between the cathode and a control electrode. SOLUTION: A cathode 11 is constructed of a cathode sleeve 1, a cap-shaped cathode base 2 secured to one end face of the cathode sleeve 1, and an electron- emitting material 3 attached to the top surface of the cap-shaped cathode base 2. The cathode 11 is securely welded to a cylinder 5 by use of three tabs 4 and is secured to the inside of a metallic outer frame 6 via an insulating substrate 7. The metallic outer frame 6 is securely welded to a cathode-structure supporting metal fitting 8 embedded in a multiform rod 13. A controlling electrode 14 is in the form of a plate, both ends of which are embedded in the multiform hod 13 to hold a predetermined interval between the inner surface of the control electrode 14 and the top surface of the electron emitting material 3.
