Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and cost of a switch, etc., by solving a problem that a voltage applied to a load becomes excessively large and current flowing in the switch becomes excessively large also, when the voltage is changed using the switch depending on the operating condition of the load, and a problem that the temperature of the switch becomes remarkably high, since commutation of the switch is repeated. SOLUTION: By performing on/off operation of a switch to be used for changing voltage to be applied by phase control, the voltage is changed smoothly, changes of its voltage and current are reduced, and low-noise operation of a motor, and size and cost reduction of the switch are realized. Besides, sharp reduction of a temperature rise is realized by using two kinds of switches having different heat generating properties a adequately.

SOLUTION: The switched reluctance motor consists of a rotor 1 with six protrusion poles 3, eight protrusion parts 4 that are provided at a stator 2, and teeth 5 that is provided so that the protrusion parts 4 in that coils with each separate phase being adjacent to bi-phase coils 6 and 7 are wound is in proximity, and the protrusion parts 4 in that adjacent coils in phase are wound are separated, thus reducing size, costs, vibration, and noise, and increasing efficiency.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the better operating condition of a motor by eliminating a problem that the operating condition of a load becomes unstable when a voltage applied to the load is changed with a switch in a refrigerator. SOLUTION: When it is required to change the speed of the motor 25, the rotating speed of motor 25 is varied up to an intermediate speed which is the suitable rotating speed for changing the application voltage to a power module 24 for the load, and the voltage is changed after changing the rotating speed. Thereafter, rotating speed of motor is varied up to the target rotating speed. As a result, shortage of lubrication oil of the motor 25 can be avoided and low noise operation of motor can also be realized.

Hereby, this controller informs the user of the installation environment of the refrigerator, and can promote the improvement of the installation environment.
