    Abstract: A heat exchanger is provided in an air conditioner, refrigerator or the like, and is provided for the indirect transmission and reception of heat between fluids. The heat exchanger comprises a plurality of flat plate fins which are arranged parallel to one another at predetermined intervals so as to allow air stream to flow therebetween, and a plurality of heat transfer tubes passing through the flat plate fins for allowing a fluid to flow therethrough. Each fin is provided with a number of groups of air vents arranged to cross the wake side of the air stream. Each of the air vents is defined by a slat having four sides in which two sides, facing the air stream, are opened and other two sides are provided with leg portions for connecting the slat with the fin. The leg portions are aligned with each other and are inclined with respect to the normal line of the leading edge of the fin. With the above structure, a swirling and a turbulent component of air are induced in the air stream flowing between the fins thereby improving the heat transfer efficiency of the fins.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fin-tube heat exchanger which includes a multiplicity of plate fins arranged in a plurality of rows disposed at a predetermined pitch in the direction of air flow, and a jointless refrigerant pipe extending through the plate fins in a zigzag manner. Pipe-receiving holes are formed in each plate fin in an offset manner relative to the center of the plate fin. The plate fins are then placed in fin-receiving grooves formed in a straight fin positioning fixture at predetermined spacings such that the same longitudinal ends of the plate fins of alternating rows appear on the same side of the fin positioning fixture and such that the pipe-receiving holes are linearly aligned. The refrigerant pipe is inserted into the pipereceiving holes and is expanded to make tight and close contact with the plate fins. The refrigerant pipe is bent in a zigzag manner so that the straight portions of the pipe occupy corners of rectangles and so that a predetermined spacing is provided between the opposite ends of the plate fins of adjacent rows. Finally, a twist is imparted to the refrigerant pipe to line up the plate fins and arrange the pipe such that the straight portions of the pipe are positioned in a staggered manner, as viewed in the direction of the rows.

    Abstract: : A heat exchanger for use in an air conditioner, refrigerator or the like, comprises a plurality of flat platelike fins arranged parallel to one another at predetermined intervals so as to allow air stream to flow therebetween A plurality of heat transfer tubes pass through the fins for transporting a fluid therethrough. Each fin is provided with a number of groups of air vents arranged to cross the air stream. Each of the air vents is defined by a slat having four sides, in which two sides facing the air stream are open and the other two sides are provided with leg portions for connecting the slat to the fin. The leg portions are aligned with each other and are inclined with respect to the normal line of the leading edge of the fin. With this structure, a swirling and a turbulent component of the air stream flowing between the fins are induced to improve the heat transfer efficiency of the fins.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the heat transfer coefficient by suppressing the thickness of the boundary layer of temperature, by providing the plurality of raised slits on a fin and by alternately arranging those slits in such a manner that each slit is opposed to the neighboring one on the fin. CONSTITUTION:Fins 4, which are provided on each straight-tube part 1' of a flat tube, are fixed corrugatedly on the flat tube at a predetermined pitch. The front edge 5' of a slit 5 provided by being raised from the surface of a fin 4 is opposed to the direction of an air flow B, and the raised face 5'' of it is provided in parallel with the fin 4. The raised face 6'' of a slit 6 neighboring and opposing to the slit 5 which is provided on the same fin 4 is opposed to the raised face 5'', and the pitch P2 between two raised faces 6'' and 5'' is determined as the value which is obtained by subtracting two times of the height of a slit from a fin pitch. With such an arrangement the boundary layer of temperature is made extremely thin since mutual raised faces are affected to each other, from a paralleled and flat plate theory; as a result, the heat transfer coefficient can be increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the heat transfer performance of a heat exchanger, by a method wherein slit pieces, cut and raised from the surface of a fin, are provided alternately and continuously on both surfaces of the fin in the direction of air stream while the cut-and-raised surfaces of the slit pieces are slanted against the direction of the air stream. CONSTITUTION:Fins 4 are fixed to the straight part 1' of a flat tube in the shape of corrugation at the space of a pitch (c). Slit pieces 5 are cut and raised from the surface of the fins 4 continuously in the direction of air stream B and alternately on both surfaces of the fins 4. Here, the slant angle theta of the cut-and-raised surface 5, the cut-and-raised height (e) of the lower side of the slit piece 5, the pitch (c) of the fins and the width (d) of the slit satisfy the relation of theta=tan (c/6d)e c/6. In this case, the development of a temperature boundary layer of the air stream B, which is generated on the surface of the fin 4, is cut to prevent the deterioration of a heat transfer rate between the continued side slit piece and the air stream, whereby a heat exchanger, capable of maintaining the high heat transfer rate between the fins 4 and the air stream from the upper stream to the lower stream thereof and prominent in heat trans fer performance, may be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the heat exchange efficiency of the heat exchanger by constitutihg the heat exchanger of a large number of plate-shaped fins arranged in parallel at a predetermined interval and between which gas flows and heat transfer tubes perpendicularly inserted through these plate shaped fins, and providing in parallel substantially arcuate collars at the rear downstream parts of these fins. CONSTITUTION:A coolant is allowed to flow within heat transfer tubes 13. The heat of the coolant is transmitted to fins 11 from fin collars 12 hermetically fixed to the heat transfer tubes 13, and a gas is allowed to flow from a direction shown by arrow 15 and passed on the fins 11, the transfer of heat being carried out by the temperature difference between the gas, fins 11 and the heat transfer tube 13 and the heat exchange between the coolant and the gas being continuously carried out. At this time, the gas flowing into the heat exchanger from the direction shown by the arrow 15 makes collision with substantially arcuate collars 16, whereby the gas can turn around and toward the rear stream side of the heat transfer tube 13 to reduce a dead water zone 14 formed at the rear stream part of the heat transfer tube 13. Thus, areas of the heat transfer tube 13 and fins 1 making contact with the airstream increase, and hence it becomes possible to improve the heat exchange ability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce formation of dew on the inlet side, by a method wherein, in a fin tube type cooler for an air conditioner and the like, a flange part, bent approximately at right angles with the flow of air, is formed to an end surface on the inlet side of the flow of air. CONSTITUTION:In a cooler 10, plural refrigerant pipes 12 are secured in a manner to extend through a number of plate fins 11, and an air flow is cooled through the medium of the plate fins 11 by means of a low temperature refrigerant flowing through the refrigerant pipe 12. Since a flange part 11', bent approximately at right angles with an air flow, shown by an arrow mark, is formed to the plate fin 11, a cut off area is formed on the inlet side of an air flow of the plate fin 11, to which eminent dew formation phenomenon occurs, formation of dew at 13 can be reduced, and dew is uniformly formed all the way through to the plate fin 11 on the outlet side of an air flow. This constitution ensures an air passage to prevent reduction of an airflow, and enables ensurance of cooling capability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure an amount of air flow under such a condition that frost is generated and enable a cooling performance to be maintained by a method wherein plate fins are comprised of a plurality of fins arranged in a non-linear stepped configuration and each of the fin elements is partially connected to each other through connecting pieces. CONSTITUTION:A cooling unit 10 is comprised of plate fins 11 arranged in parallel to each other and coolant pipes 12 crossing at a right angle these plate fins 11. The plate fins 11 are comprised of a plurality of fin elements 11A and 11B arranged in a non-linear form with respect to a step direction and connecting pieces 13 for connecting these fin elements 11A and 11B, and a spacing capable of flowing air is arranged between these connecting pieces 13. Therefore, frost is concentrated at the connecting pieces 13 connecting the fin elements 11A and 11B having a high rate of thermal conduction, an adhering of frost at the end part of the air flow inlet port plate fins 11 is reduced and an air passage can be kept, so that an amount of air flow is not restricted and a cooling characteristic at the time of adhering of frost can be maintained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase heat transfer coefficient by a method wherein a multitude of rise-up slits are provided continuously between heat transfer tubes of a plate fin and the sides of the rise-up slits are formed so as to be slanted with respect to the direction of airflow while the rise-up slits are formed so as to have different heights in the continued several pieces thereof. CONSTITUTION:The flat plate type plate fin 11 is provided with fin collars 12, risen up with equal intervals. The plate fins 11 are fitted to the heat transfer tubes 13. The rise-up slits 11a-11h are provided on the front and rear surfaces of the plate fin 11 so that the sides of the slits 11a-11h are slanted with respect to the direction of the air-flow B and the heights thereof are different in two stages in the front and rear surfaces of the fin. According to this constitution, the temperature boundary layer of the leading side rise-up slits 11a, 11b, 11c, 11f is reduced before entering next rise-up slits 11c, 11d, 11g, 11h, whereby the growth of the temperature boundary layer may be restrained and the heat transfer coefficient of the heat exchanger may be increased.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the heat transfer property of a single flat tube heat exchanger by a method wherein the heat exchanger consists of a flat tube, to the surface of which a large number of pins are planted vertically so as to give strong turbulence to the air stream flowing among the group of the pins by the pins in order to develop a large quantity of heat transfer between the pins and the air stream. CONSTITUTION:Heat is exchanged between air stream B flowing among pins 5 and the flow in a flat tube 3. In this case, a large quantity of heat transfer is realized between the pins 5 and the air stream B, because the air stream B is given turbulence by the pins 5 and the pin 5 has almost no thick boundary layer, which develops in a flat plate fin and hinders the heat transfer. In addition, the staggered arrangement of the pins onto the flat tube 3 gives far more turbulence to the air stream B, resulting in giving the improving effect for remarkably large heat transfer. Furthermore, because the pin 5 has a circular column form, no re-straightening of the air stream B by the pin 5, which occurs by a flat fin in such a manner that the flat fin straightens again the air stream given turbulence by a heat transfer medium tube, occurs.
