Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution by using a catalyst prepared by combining a specified transition metal catalyst component with an organoaluminum(oxy) compound. CONSTITUTION:A transition metal complex compound of formula I [wherein M is Zr or Hf; R is 6C or higher aryl, naphthyl, fluorene or CR R R ; R to R are each H, alkyl, aryl or aralkyl, at least two of them are alkyl, aryl or aralkyl provided that the above alkyl, aryl or naphthyl may be substituted with alkyl or aryl or may have a substituent containing a heteroatom such as halogen, O, N, P, S or Si; R and R are each R , halogen or SO3R ; R is halogen or SO3R ; R is (halogen-substituted) alkyl, aryl or the like; c is alkyl; (n) is an integer), which may be branched or cyclic, and/or an oragnoaluminum compound.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain optically active aminoalcohols of various kinds of desired chemical structures useful as a drug and an optically active ligand of asymmetric synthesis reaction from a ketoxime by a simple process and in an extremely high optical yield. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by formula 1 (R and R are 1-20C alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or these group may contain substituent group) is hydrogenated by using an optical activator of a compound shown by formula 2 (Fe is ferrocenyl; R is OH or NR R R and R5 are lower alkyl or cycloalkyl) and a monovalent rhodium complex in a molar ratio of about 1:1 preferably at 0-150 deg.C to give an optical activator of a compound shown by formula 3. Then this activator is reduced preferably with gaseous hydrogen or a metal hydride compound of boron or aluminum to give an optical activator of a compound shown by formula 4 by a simple process.

CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I [R -R are H, alkyl, aryl or may be mutually bonded to form ring; R is formula II (R and R are H, alkyl, aryl or mutually bonded to form ring)] is reacted with an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a vanadium compound of formula III or IV (R , R , R and R are lower alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, etc.; R and R are H, halogen, lower alkyl, aryl, etc.; R and R , R and R may be mutually bonded to form ring) and an aldehyde of formula R CHO (R is alkyl or aryl), as necessary, in a solvent (e.g. dichloroethane) at the ordinary pressure and at 0-100 deg.C, thus giving the objective compound of formula V.

CONSTITUTION:An alpha,beta-unsaturated compound shown by formula V (R is H, alkyl, etc.; R is H, alkyl, etc.) is reacted with an ester compound of nitrous acid shown by formula VI in the presence of at least one selected from cobalt compounds shown by formula I (R is alkyl, etc.; R is H, alkanoyl, etc.; R and R are H or alkyl), formula II (R and R are H, alkyl, etc.; R and R are H, alkyl, etc.; R and R are, alkanoyl, etc.) and formula III and an organosilicon compound shown by formula IV (R and R are H, alkyl, etc.; R is H, alkyl, etc.) to give an oxime shown by formula VII. This method is a new reaction carried out in the presence of both the cobalt compound and the organosilicon compound.

The oxidation reaction can be safely carried out under extremely mild condition.
