    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an antifouling coating which contains a specified imide compd. as an effective ingredient, exhibits an excellent antifouling effect upon marine organisms, etc. without causing environmental pollution and is suitable for coating of ship bottom, etc. CONSTITUTION:The antifouling coating contains, as an effective ingredient, an imide compd. of formulaI(where D is of formula II, III or IV; X and Y are each H, halogen, methyl, methoxyl, acetyl, acetoxyl or phenyl; m is 0-1; R is 2-300C n-valent aliphatic group; n is 1-10). The imide compd. of formulaIis obtained by reacting a primary amine or a polyamine a carboxylic acid anhydride of formula V in an organic solvent.Iare, e.g., N-methylmaleimide, n-2-mithylpropylmaleimide and N,N'-1,6-hexanebismaleimide.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an antifouling paint which inhibits adhesion of aquatic organisms to fishing nets, ship bottom and underwater sturctures and the growth thereof, containing a specified maleamic acid. CONSTITUTION:A prim. amine or a polyamine is reacted with maleic anhydride of formulaI(wherein X, Y are each H, halogen, methyl, methoxy, acetoxy, phenyl) in an org. solvent to produce a maleamic acid of formula II, wherein R is a 2-80C n-valent org. group; n is 1-10. Then up to 40wt%, pref. 1-30wt% above maleamic acid is blended with an antifouling paint consisting of a vehicle such as oil varnish or an acrylic resin, a filler, a colorant, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To firmly adhere together two polyolefin foaming objects, by heating by high frequency induction in such a condition as disperses metallic conductive elements over an adhering surface of one of the two polyolefin foaming objects. CONSTITUTION:Metallic conductive elements, such as metal powder, metal mesh, etc., are temporarily adhered to an adhering surface of one of two polyolefin foaming objects having a high foaming power of an apparent specific gravity of about 0.2- 0.4, an adhering surface of the other being laid on a top of aforesaid adhering surface. These foaming objects are then pressurized at a pressure of about 2-5kg/ cm , the objects being induction-heated by impressing a high frequency of 10- 500kHz. As a result of conductive elements, thus, being heated, the foaming objects are welded together. The foaming objects are then left for a period of from 20-30 seconds for cooling.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a double-layer material useful for residential interior decoration or the like by intensely gluing a polyolefin molding on a polyolefin molding or other moldings through a high frequency induction heating with a film made of an ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and the like placed on the intended surface without damaging the appearance and physical properties. CONSTITUTION:When two moldings at least one being a polyolefin molding are glued together, a gluing is made through a high frequency induction heating with a film mainly composed of an ethylene vinyl acetate placed on the intended surface to produce a double-layer material. The applying moldings are films, sheets or plate- shaped materials while the base moldings are vinyl chloride, polyurethane or the like. The thickness of the ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer preferably ranges from 20-50mu.
