    Abstract: PURPOSE:To almost perfectly remove silane gas in exhaust gas, by allowing the silane gas in the exhaust gas of a semiconductor preparing apparatus to pass a packed bed based on solid metal oxide to treat the same. CONSTITUTION:A quartz tube 1 is packed with solid metal oxide particles to form a packed bed 2. The part of the packed bed 2 is heated within a range of a room temp. -800 deg.C by an electric furnace 3. Silane gas is diluted with nitrogen gas while the diluted silane gas with predetermined concn. is stored in a gas reservoir 4 and subsequently passed through the packed bed 2 through a flow meter 5, a needle valve 6 and pump 7. The treated gas 8 from the outlet of the packing layer 2 is collected and the concn. of silane gas therein is analyzed. The concn. thereof is reduced at least to 0.5ppm or less, pref., 0.1ppm or less. In order to regenerate or exchange the packing material, a plurality parallel sytem is pref. employed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To purify an aqueous solution of the titled compound useful for an agent for paper making, by adjusting the content of 2-cyanoethyl acrylate in an aqueous solution of acrylamide obtained by hydrating acrylonitrile in the presence of a copper catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Acrylonitrile is hydrated in the presence of a copper catalyst, e.g. a combination of copper in the form of a copper wire and copper powder with copper ions, reduced copper or electrolytic copper or Raney nickel, at a weight ratio between the acrylonitirle and the water of preferably 60:40-5:95 to give an aqueous solution of acrylamide. The content of 2-cyanoethyl acrylate in the aqueous solution is previously adjusted to 20ppm or less based on the acrylamide, and the aqueous solution of the acrylamide is then treated with a cation exchage resin to purify the aqueous solution of the acrylamide. The reaction temperature is preferably 70- 150 deg.C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:An aqueous acrylamide obtained by hydration of acrylonitrile is treated with an ion-exchange resin and active carbon to remove impurities, thus producing good-quality acrylamide aqueous solution that can be used to produce high-molecular flocculant. CONSTITUTION:Acrylonitrile is catalytically hydrated in the presence of a catalyst containing copper to form an aqueous acrylamide solution. Then, the solution is treated with an H-form strong-acid cationic exchange resin and subsequently with an OH-form strong-base aninon exchange resin. Additionally, the resultant solution is treated with active carbon to remove unreacted acrylonitrile, ionic substances, by- products and so on, thus effecting purification to high degree. The resultant, product is especially suitable for use as a raw material of acrylamide high-molecular flocculant.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To purify the title solution useful for the production of a polymer flocculant of good quality, by passing the title compound obtained by the hydration of acrylonitrile, in the presence of a copper catalyst, through a specific resin layer. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of acrylamide obtained by the catalytic hydration of acrylonitrile, in the presence of a catalyst containing copper, e.g. Raney copper, is passed through a weakly basic anion exchange resin layer having a primary or secondary amino group renewable without regeneration, e.g. Amberlite IR45, manufactured by Rohm & Haas Co., preferably after treating it through a strong acidic cation exchange resin having a tertiary amino group and purified, to give a high-molecular weight polyacrylamide flocculant in higher purity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:Acrylamide and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonate salt are copolymerized in an aqueous solution, treated with heat under specific conditions and then dried to produce said high-polymer coagulant with good solubility in water. CONSTITUTION:A monomer aqueous solution of 2-40wt% concentration consisting of 55-98wt% of acrylamide and 45-2wt% of 2-acrylamide-2-methyl-propanesulfonate is subjected to solution polymerization in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator at -10-105 deg.C. The resulting copolymer is heat treated at a temperature higher than that of polymerization for 15 min to 5 hr under moisture conditions from the moisture content at the completion of the polymerization to about 20wt% water content and then dried by removing water at 60-150 deg.C for 30min to 5 hr to a level of 5-15wt% water content.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled antifouling agent having improved antifouling effect, etc., comprising N-(1, 1, 2, 2-tetrachloroethylthio)-4-cyclo-hexene-1,2-dicarboxyimide as an active ingredient and a specific mixture as a spreading agent in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:N-(1, 1, 2, 2-Tetrachloroethylthio)-4-cyclohexene-1, 2-dicarboxyimide shown by the formula of an antifouling agent as an active ingredient is blended with a mixture consisting of >=60wt% calculated as solid concentration of total amount of polybutene and rosin in a blending ratio of polybutene to rosin of (1:3)-(3:1) as a spreading agent. >=5wt% based on total solid amount of the active ingredient shows improved antifouling effect. Solvents and pigment are added to the solid substances, to form an antifouling coating compound. When it is applied to fishing nets and the nets are used in the water, they exhibit improved performances with respect to water release characteristics and durability, and improved antifouling effect. The amount of the solvents used is preferably 40-80wt.%. based on total amount.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To almost perfectly remove silane gas, by bringing exhaust gas of silane gas used in preparation of a semiconductor into contact with an alkaline substance-containing alcohol solution. CONSTITUTION:Alkaline substances such as NaOH, NH3, amines and weak inorg. acid salts or weak org. acid salts thereof are contained in an alcohol solution such as methanol or ethanol to prepare a treating solution. Exhaust gas containing silane gas used in the preparation of a semiconductor, especially, monosilane, disilane or trisilane is brought into gas-liquid contact with the treating solution. By this method, the silane gas in exhaust gas is removed to an extent of 0.5ppm, furhter, 0.1ppm or less.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a synthetic raw material for a polyacrylamide mucilaginous agent, etc. containing substantially no 2-cyanoethyl acrylate in high quality, by recrystallizing and purifying a crude aqueous solution of acrylamide. CONSTITUTION:A crude aqueous solution of acrylamide obtained by catalytically hydrating acrylonitrile in the presence of a catalyst containing copper, e.g. copper in the form of a copper wire or copper powder and copper ions, is subjected to the recrystallization, removal of impurities by the physical adsorption with active carbon or active clay, the chemical method by hydrolysis, etc. to remove 2-cyanoethyl acrylate. To obtain a good polyacrylamide mucilaginous agent, an aqueous solution of the acrylamide containing 5ppm or less, preferably 3ppm or less, more preferably 1ppm or less, based on the acrylamide, 2-cyanoethyl acrylate is used as the raw material.
