Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which is applicable to keratin materials, shows a fine 'no transfer' characteristic particularly even when rubbed, possesses fine holding time, exerts a fine mechanical characteristic and is useful as an infusion-type foundation or the like by using an amorphous poly(cycloolefine). SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) an effective amount of an amorphous poly(cycloolefine) or a mixture of the amorphous poly(cycloolefine) in (B) a liquid fat phase containing at least one of oils which have chemical structures containing at least one of carbon-containing rings. Further, it is favorable that the component A shows a glass transition temperature in the range of -20-+300 deg.C, preferably -10-+150 deg.C, and is a copolymer which is selected from a homopolymer of cycloolefine and a copolymer of cycloolefine and particularly contains at least 10 mol% of cycloolefine and the component A is contained in a proportion of at least 1 mass % based on the whole mass of the composition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing fiber, especially an emulsion form composition for local application, without having inferior points in conventional technologies, i.e., having a good stability and giving a uniform and attractive care or makeup effect. SOLUTION: This care or makeup composition for local application is obtained by incorporating the fiber, and at least 1 copolymer containing carboxylate group and a polydimethylsiloxane group in a physiologically permissible medium. The use of the copolymer containing carboxylate group and the polydimethylsiloxane group is found to give the composition having a very good stability and good cosmetic characteristics.

SOLUTION: This topical composition is obtained by dissolving (A) a polyester type dendritic polymer having terminal hydroxy groups in (B) a solvent. The component A preferably comprises a highly branched polyester type polymer which comprises a central unit derived from an initiator compound having (i) one or more hydroxy groups and chain-extending units each derived from a chain-extending molecule having (ii) a carboxy group and (ii) two or more hydroxy groups. The components i of the central unit are used as starting points for polycondensation reactions (polyesterification) which starts from the reaction of the components i of the central unit with the components ii of the chain-extending molecules and is subsequently followed by the reactions of the components ii of the chain-extending molecules with their components iii.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition in a stable oil-in-water type emulsion form, containing an oily phase having a dispersed aqueous phase by making the composition include a specific cellulose raw fiber free from a surfactant. SOLUTION: This composition contains a cellulose raw fiber having length larger than 1 micron and the ratio of length/diameter larger than 30 (meaning both nanofibril and microfibril) in a physiologically acceptable medium (a medium compatible with skin, lip, scalp, eyebrow, eye and/or hair) but not a surfactant. The cellulose raw fiber is generally introduced into the aqueous phase of an emulsion. In the composition, the active ingredient contains preferably 0.05-20 wt.% of the cellulose raw fiber. The composition comprises 10-40 wt.% of a liquid phase (preferably liquid paraffin, etc.).
