Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described to support accounting for contention-exempt synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) when validating one or more channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS). A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), an indication of the one or more contention-exempt SSBs, and the UE may determine to monitor for a configured CSI-RS if resources assigned to the CSI-RS fall within a time frame associated with the one or more contention-exempt SSBs. Similarly, the base station may transmit configured CSI-RS if resources assigned to the CSI-RS fall within a time frame associated with the one or more contention-exempt SSBs. The time frame associated with the one or more contention-exempt SSBs may include a slot that includes the SSB (s), a symbol that includes the SSB (s), symbols between the SSB (s), slots between the SSB (s), or any combination thereof.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a beam configuration. The communication device may select a first beam (for example, a sensing beam) for wireless communication based on the beam configuration. The first beam including a first beam gain and a first pointing direction. The communication device may select a second beam (for example, a transmitting beam) based on the beam configuration. The second beam including a second beam gain and a second pointing direction. The communication device may determine (for example, adjust) an energy detection threshold (EDT) associated with the second beam based on the second beam gain in the first pointing direction and the first beam gain in the first pointing direction. The communication device may sense a channel using the second beam and the EDT associated with the second beam.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication includes a first wireless communication device receiving, from a second wireless communication device, one or more signals for each of a plurality of candidate sensing beams and a transmission beam. The method also includes determining, for each of the plurality of candidate sensing beams based on at least one of the one or more signals for the respective candidate sensing beam, a first signal measurement. The method also includes determining, based on at least one of the one or more signals for the transmission beam, a second signal measurement with respect to a direction of the transmission beam, and determining, for each of the plurality of candidate sensing beams based on the respective first signal measurement and the second signal measurement, beam coverage information with respect to the transmission beam direction.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To support a reliable array response for wideband communications, a base station may configure a set of transmission instances for a set of signals distributed across a wideband carrier bandwidth. At least one transmission instance of the set of transmission instances may be configured in each sub-band of the carrier bandwidth. The base station may transmit the set of signals in the configured transmission instances to a user equipment (UE). The UE may receive the set of signals distributed across the carrier bandwidth and may measure, for the signals, a set of signal measurements corresponding to the set of sub-bands. Based on the signal measurements, the UE may determine a set of communication beams for the set of sub-bands. Using one or more of the determined communication beams, the UE may communicate with the base station in the carrier bandwidth.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for sidelink channel occupancy time (COT) sharing request signaling in a wireless communication system. A sidelink transmitting user equipment (UE) transmits a COT sharing request to a sidelink initiator UE. The COT sharing request indicates to the initiator UE to initiate sharing of a COT acquired by the initiator UE with the transmitting UE. The initiator UE, in response to receiving the COT sharing request, determines to acquire the COT, and initiates COT sharing by transmitting, to the transmitting UE, COT sharing information including information to facilitate access to the COT by the transmitting UE. The transmitting UE, based on the COT sharing information received from the initiator UE, access the sidelink channel during the COT and transmits data over the sidelink channel.
