Abstract:
Shielding portions (6 and 7) are superposed on opposite sides of an elongate flexible circuit board (4) on which signal wires are formed by folding about fold lines (a and b) to provide a flexible shielded signal wire. The flexible shielded signal wire is especially suitable for transmission of signals to and from a rotary head drum of a digital audio tape recorder.
Abstract:
A method is provided for detecting and correcting error words in a data block formed of a plurality of words each consisting of or comprising a predetermined number of bits of digital signal, the block including first error check words, second error check words not completely coincident with the first words, and a third error check work. The method comprises first executing an error check by the third check word and concluding that an error is present in each of the words of the data block when an error is detected, executing second and third error checks by the respective first and second error check words, and thereupon setting one of three states, namely a state in which each of the words is correct, a state in which each of the words has an error, and a state in which it is yet undetermined whether each word is correct or has an error; and when words having errors or undetermined words are included in the first and second words series, changing the state of the words having errors or the undetermined words.
Abstract:
A reproducing device for reproducing a tape-shaped recording medium, such as a magnetic tape, has recorded on it an address information along with data on a plurality of inclined tracks. The address information is composed of a track address and a block address. The reproducing device, reading out and reproducing data from the tape-shaped recording medium, includes a reproducing unit, an address extracting unit, a memory, a driving unit and a controller. The reproducing unit reads out data from the tape-shaped reproducing medium for data reproduction. The reproducing unit has a rotary head configured for scanning plural tracks of the tape-shaped recording medium for reading out data from the recording medium. The address extracting unit extracts the address information from data read out by the reproducing unit by one scanning of the tape-shaped recording medium by the rotary head. The memory stores data read out from the reproducing unit. The data read out from the reproducing unit is written in the memory based upon the address information extracted by the address extraction unit. The driving unit runs the tape-shaped recording medium. The controller generates read-out addresses for reading out the data stored in the memory. The controller controls the driving unit based upon the address information which is extracted by the address extraction unit and which is associated with pre-set locations on the track of the tape-shaped recording medium.
Abstract:
An image data processing method of recording image data, coded in the MPEG (Motion Picture Expert Group) format, on a recording medium. To approximate the VBV buffer bit occupancy rate to a target value, the initial value of the bit occupancy amount in a VBV buffer is calculated by using auxiliary data read from the recording medium, the target value of the bit occupancy rate is compared with the initial value, and the amount of bits to be allocated to each GOP of image data to be coded is controlled depending on the comparison result.
Abstract:
An image data processing method of processing MPEG-coded image data composed of data groups (Pack_V) each of which has an auxiliary recording area (AUX_V), begins with an I-picture or a P-picture, and includes a B-picture. When a recording medium contains a data group to be tag-recorded and a data group preceded by EditPack_V_h including a copy picture and/or stuffing bytes, the EditPack_V_h is separated and removed in a first tag recording, and a second tag recording is conducted. This eliminates unnecessary stuffing or a copy picture, thus preventing deterioration in image quality in a second tag recording.
Abstract:
An image data processing method of recording auxiliary data, which is used for tag recording in the MPEG2 system, on a recording medium. A VBV delay of an I-picture or a P-picture is obtained from a data group including a B-picture, and a VBV delay (VBV_delay_N) of the next picture is obtained in advance. In addition, when coded image data is recorded, one data group at a time, in a predetermined recording area on a recording medium, the obtained VBV delay is recorded in an auxiliary recording area provided for each data group and the obtained VBV_delay_N is recorded in the next-picture auxiliary recording area provided for the next picture recording area.

Abstract:
THERE IS PROVIDED A METHOD OF MODULATING A DATA BIT SERIES CONSISTING OF A FIRST VALUE (FOR EXAMPLE 1) AND A SECOND VALUE (FOR EXAMPLE O) WHEREBY A TRANSITION IS CAUSED SO AS TO SATISFY THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS (A) TO (D):(A) A TRANSITION IS CAUSED AT THE BOUNDRY OF A BIT CELL WHICH IS SANDWICHED BY BITS O;(B) A TRANSITION IS CAUSED AT THE CENTRAL PORITION OF A BIT CELL OF A BIT 1;(C) AMONG AN EVEN NUMBER OF BITS 1 WHICH ARE SANDWICHED BY BIT 0, A TRANSITION IS INHIBITED AT THE CENTRAL PORTION OF EACH BIT CELL OF THE LAST TWO BITS 1 AND A TRANSITION IS CAUSED AT THE BOUNDARY OF THE BIT CELLS OF THESE TWO BITS 1; AND (D) WHEN AT LEAST ONE BIT IN A PATTERN WHICH STARTS WITH THE TWO BITS 01 APPEARS AT A LOCATION NEXT TO AN EVEN NUMBER OF BITS 1 SUBSEQUENT TO A BIT 0, A TRANSITION IS CAUSED AT THE CENTRAL PORTION OF THE BIT CELL OF THE BIT 0 BETWEEN THESE TWO BITS.
Abstract:
For recording digital data on a recording medium, an identification code for indicating that the digital data is a series of recording data and an error check code for error checking of digital data forming a block are added for each block of the data. The identification code is inherently contained in the error check code to suppress an increase of redundancy.
