Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily increase the cassette housing capacity of a cassette library system for recording/reproducing data by selecting an optional cassette from those housed in a cassette shelf. SOLUTION: A cassette library system comprises a library main body 1 including a cassette shelf, a drive for recording/reproducing a recording medium cassette, a cassette carrying mechanism for carrying the recording medium cassette and a system controller 31 for controlling these elements, a plurality of warehousing units connected in series to the system main body and each having a cassette shelf and a cassette carrying mechanism and a cassette transfer mechanism 56 for transferring a recording medium cassette between the library main body 1 and the warehousing unit 35, and the system controller 31 includes the operation steps of recognizing the connection of the warehousing unit 35 and the number of cassette shelves increased by the connection of the warehousing units and incorporating, when the warehousing units are connected, the increase of cassette shelves in a cassette shelf map as own cassette shelves.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify a motor driving circuit in the disk auto-changer. CONSTITUTION:The disk auto-changer is equipped with a Z-axis motor for moving a carrier 10 in the layering direction of a stocker 2 and optical disk drives 4A and 4B (the direction of an arrow Z), an H-axis motor 22 for moving a sliding member 12 in the inserting/ejecting direction of a cartridge 1 (the direction of an arrow H) and a theta-axis motor 23 for rotating the carrier 10. In view of nonrotation of the H-axis motor 22 and the theta-axis motor 23 at the same time, a power source voltage V2 is supplied from a common power stabilizer circuit 28 to servo amplifiers 25 and 26 for driving the H-axis motor 22 and the theta-axis motor 23.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and exactly perform operation when restarting the operation of a servo motor. SOLUTION: A servo motor device has a servo motor to be controlled by a closed loop, rotation detectors 12, 13 and 20 for detecting the rotation of the servo motor and drive circuit 13 for supplying power to the servo motor and has a power saving function. Whether power is supplied to the servo motor or power is cut off, based on a signal from the said rotation detector, the current position of the servo motor is operated and when rotating the servo motor, the servo motor is operated based on the deviation between the current position and a target position.
