Abstract:
Drive means for recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes a first gear train (26, 45, 46 or 47, 3a or 4a) causes a supply or take-up reel table (3, 4) to rotate at a first speed, and a second gear train (26, 40, 46, 3a) which causes the supply or take-up reel table to rotate at a second speed higher than the first speed. By selecting one of these gear trains, the apparatus selectively operates in a FF/REW mode or a high-speed FF/REW mode. In the FF/REW mode, the tape forwarding or rewinding is performed in a tape loaded condition in which tape is arranged in the usual tape travelling path. In the high-speed FF/REW mode, it is performed in a tape unloaded condition in which the tape is arranged at a location other than in the tape travelling path, or is housed within a tape cassette. The system has a torque limiter (17, 27) between a driving source (5) and the first or second gear train. When the apparatus operates in a forward or reverse reproduction mode, the torque limiter acts on the first gear train so as to decrease the rotation speed of the supply or take-up reel table depending upon a load applied to the first gear train.
Abstract:
A RECORDING MEDIUM DEVICE HAVING A CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY HOUSING A RECORDING MEDIUM CONFIGURED FOR RECORDING INFORMATION SIGNALS. THE RECORDING MEDIUM DEVICE INCLUDES THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY HOUSING THE MAGNETIC TAPE, A CONTACT TERMINAL ARRANGED FACING THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY FOR FUNCTIONING AS AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT FOR A DRIVE UNIT AND A SHUTTER MEMBER ARRANGED ON THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY FOR OPENING AND CLOSING THE CONTACT TERMINAL. THE CONTACT TERMINAL FACES OUTWARDLY OF THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY VIA AN OPENING FORMED IN THE OUTER PERIPHERAL WALL OF THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY. WHEN NOT LOADED ON THE DRIVE UNIT, THE SHUTTER MEMBER IS HELD AT A POSITION OF CLOSING THE OPENING FORMED IN THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY. WHEN LOADED ON THE DRIVE UNIT, THE SHUTTER MEMBER IS MOVED BY A SHUTTER OPENING MECHANISM MOUNTED IN THE DRIVE UNIT TO A POSITION OF OPENING THE OPENING FOR FACING THE CONTACT TERMINAL TO OUTSIDE OF THE CARTRIDGE MAIN BODY. THE SHUTTER MEMBER IS PERPETUALLY BIASED BY A BIASING UNIT IN A DIRECTION OF CLOSING THE OPENING CONFIGURED FOR EXPOSING THE CONTACT TERMINAL TO OUTSIDE. SINCE THE CONTACT TERMINAL OF THE RECORDING MEDIUM DEVICE IS COVERED BY THE SHUTTER MEMBER AND HENCE IS SAFEGUARDED AGAINST DEPOSITION OF DUCT AND DIRT FOR POSITIVE PROTECTION.
Abstract:
A tape reel allowing the reliability of a magnetic tape running at a high speed to increase and a tape cartridge having the tape reel, the tape reel wherein an annular chucking gear (152b) formed at the lower surface center part of the lower side flange part (152) of the tape reel (150) is formed of vertical wall surfaces to suppress the idle rotation and rise of the tape reel, whereby the running stability and straight forward running capability of the magnetic tape when the tape reel (150) is rotated at a high speed can be assured, and the reliability of the tape cartridge in high speed operation c an be increased.

Abstract:
A tape drive device capable of surely feeding a magnetic tape (T) extracted from a tape cartridge (4) to a windup reel (3) in a drive device body, a tape extraction device, and a tape cassette; the tape drive device, comprising a chucking mechanism (14) engaged with a reader block (12) provided at one end of the magnetic tape (T), a transfer mechanism (11) having a transfer part (13) for feeding the chucked reader block (12), release levers (33) and (34) installed on both end sides of a cam groove (19) for movably guiding the reader block (12), operated by cam bodies (35) and (36) installed on the transfer part (13), and releasing the chucking of the chucking mechanism (14), and reel motors (53C) and (52T) having frequency generators (52C) and (52T) drivingly rotating the tape reel (410) and the windup reel (3) in the tape cartridge (4).
Abstract:
A single reel tape cartridge capable of positioning a reader block and preventing the reader block from rattling by providing a locking part to the reader block and a winding reel inside a device body, wherein a pair of right and left changer grips are formed at two corner parts of the tape cartridge so as to pass in vertical direction, a memory module for radio communication having the control information in a magnetic tape recorded therein is mounted aslant at one corner part of the tape cartridge so that a communication antenna can be directed in two directions, a stripe for identification of medium is provided on a reader tape, and the cartridge is closed by a reel unlocking shutter, whereby the single reel tape cartridge suitable for use in a library can be realized.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downscale a tape drive unit and to improve traveling stability. SOLUTION: A tape drive unit 1 which pulls out and runs a tape-shaped recording medium 102 from the pullout port 101a of a case body 101 of a one- reel type tape cassette 100, is provided with a drum 17 around which the tape- shaped recording medium is wound and slide-contacted, a guide shaft 22a for turning the tape-shaped recording medium at a prescribed position near the pullout port of the case body, and a pair of guide pins 20a and 21a which can be moved in a direction which contacts/separates from the drum, and are separated in the peripheral direction of the drum near the drum when moved in a direction close to the drum. The tape-shaped recoding medium is turned in order by the guide shaft for turning and the pair of guide pin moved in the direction close to the drum, and then the tape-shaped recording medium located between the pair of guide pins is wound around the drum.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the mechanism and control circuit of a cartridge changer. SOLUTION: A pair of left and right changer grips 28 are formed on the two corner parts 2C, 2D among three corner parts other than a gate way 13 of tape of the single reel tape cartridge 1 so as to penetrate the upper and lower sides of tape cartridge 1.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively access a memory in cassette(MIC) mounted on a tape cartridge from at least 2 directions. SOLUTION: An MIC 31 is disposed by inclining it by 45 degrees toward the front and rear and the right and left in the corner part 2C of the tape cartridge 1 so that the antenna part 34 of the MIC 31 is directed in the two directions of the back and the lateral side.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely discriminate and manage the identification information of a recording medium cartridge. SOLUTION: This recording medium cartridge 1 includes an identification display part 4 provided so as to display identification information for discriminating a recording medium 3 inside an outer casing 2 by being stuck to the outer surface of the outer casing 2, and an identification information storage part 5 provided inside the outer casing 2 for storing identification information having the same content as that of information indicated by the identification display part 4. Also provided are a first reading means 8 for reading the identification information of the identification display part 4 and a second reading means 9 for reading identification information stored in the identification information storage part 5, and identification information read by the first or second reading means 8 or 9 is employed as the identification information of the recording medium cartridge 1 by an identification information prescribing means 10. If the identification information is not read because of the deterioration or the like of the identification display part 4, by using the identification information read from the identification information storage part 5 as that of the recording medium cartridge 1, identification information management is secured.
