Abstract: A color cathode-ray tube (20) in which, opposing to a color fluorescent screen (5) so configured that stripes (9) of luminescent materials each capable of emitting light of a color are arranged in parallel to each other in a predetermined order, an aperture grille (10) in which a number of slits (4) extending in the longitudinal direction of the stripes (9) are made in parallel to each other is provided, the aperture grille (10) is so configured as to stretch a thin plate (1) having the slits (4) on a frame (3) with a required tension in the longitudinal direction of the slits (4). The thin plate (1) is a thin high purity iron plate having a thickness of 0.05 mm or less. Since the controllability of the widths of the slits in manufacturing is improved by virtue of the specified thickness of the thin plate, the precision and productivity of the aperture grille can be improved and the weight thereof can be reduced. Further, a fine structure screen for color cathode-ray tubes can be manufactured.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with which the higher luminance of a display image is realized while the useless emission of electrons from an electron emission section is surely prevented.
SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with: a cathode electrode along a horizontal direction; a gate electrode along a perpendicular direction; an electron emission section disposed in the intersection of these electrode lines; a control circuit which changes over and controls a cathode voltage to either of a cathode OFF voltage Vk-OFF and cathode ON voltage Vk-ON; and a control circuit which variably controls a gate voltage within the range of a gate OFF voltage Vg-OFF and a gate ON voltage Vg-ON, wherein the potential difference ΔV1 between the cathode ON voltage Vk-ON and the gate OFF voltage Vg-OFF is set at a cutoff voltage or below and the cathode OFF voltage Vg-OFF is set between the gate OFF voltage Vg-OFF and the gate ON voltage Vg-ON.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent a number of filaments from deflecting with their own weight when welding a mask original plate to a frame by providing a support which, when the mask original plate is placed on the frame pressurized, supports the mask original plate placed inside the pressurized frame. CONSTITUTION: A support 21 is provided which, when a mask original plate is placed on a pressurized frame 1, supports the mask original plate placed inside the frame 1. The upper surface of the support 21 forms a cylindrical surface to fit the shape of a mask. The support 21 is fixed to a fixing portion 22 via leg members 21a, 21b. After the frame 1 is placed in a predetermined position on a mount 13, the frame 1 is pressurized by a hydraulic cylinder so that its opposite sides 1A, 1B come close to each other. In this case, the outside of the opposite part 1A of the frame 1 is fixed by a block 17, and a block 15 is made to abut to the outside of the other opposite part 1B and pulled by the piston of the hydraulic cylinder, so that the opposite parts 1A, 1B of the frame 1 are pressurized. Under these conditions, the mask original plate is electric seam welded and the frame 1 is depressurized.

SOLUTION: A backlight device 3 has: a light source substrate 10 mounted with a light-emitting element 11 emitting illumination light; a bottom chassis 7 attached with the light source substrate 10 to one face; and an optical function sheet laminate 22 attached to one face of the bottom chassis 7 via a facing distance and applying optical treatment to illumination light. A first space part 8 is formed between the liquid crystal panel 4 and the optical function sheet laminate 22, a second space part 9 is formed between the bottom chassis 7 and the optical function sheet laminate 22, and ventilation ports 24a and 24b communicating the first space part 8 with the second space part 9 are formed in the optical function sheet laminate 22. This configuration raises the temperature of the liquid crystal panel by the heat generated from the LED 11, and also radiates the heat generated from the LED to the outside.
