The connector 11 has elasticity, and it is formed with a head section 11a and a neck section 11b. The internal magnetic shield 5 of a cathode-ray tube is provided with a hole 12 corresponding to the head section 11a of the connector 11, and the head section 11a is inserted into the hole 12 to fix the getter device 8.

SOLUTION: In respective red-, green-, and blue-emitting phosphor stripe layers 13r, 13g, 13b, the stripe width Wb of the blue-emitting phosphor stripe layers 13b is set to be wider than the stripe width Wr, Wg of other phosphor stripe layers 13r, 13g of two colors and the color difference caused by miss landing of electron beam is limited only in the blue color direction, so that significant deterioration of white uniformity can be prevented even in the case landing of the electron beam on the phosphor screen is greatly shifted due to earth magnetism or the like.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow no change of chromaticity of a green phosphor, lessen the difference of luminance saturation from a red phosphor, and suppress such a phenomenon as appearing magenta color partially at a white raster time by using a substance formed by mixing a rare earth phosphor and Zn2 SiO4 : Mn to ZnS: Cu, Al as the green phosphor. SOLUTION: Preferably, ZnS: Cu, Al is set to be 40 wt.% to 60 wt.% of the whole, and the disadvantage of luminance decrease is caused at less than 40 wt.%, and the disadvantage of luminance saturation improvement deficiency is caused at more than 60 wt.%. A rare earth phosphor is added as a luminance saturation countermeasure, but excessive addition causes the luminance decrease, and deficient addition causes no luminance saturation improvement effect. Zn2 SiO4 : Mn is excellent in a luminance saturation characteristic and has a chromaticity adjusting function as well. Accordingly, for example, Zn2 SiO4 : Mn is added by 10 wt.% to 30 wt.%, and deficient addition cause a chromaticity problem, and excessive addition cases an afterglow problem.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the shielding effect of both an inner magnetic shield and an inner beam shield by aligning the joint end of the inner magnetic shield with the joint end of the inner beam shield, and specifying an angle formed with the two shields. CONSTITUTION:An inner beam shield 15 and an inner magnetic shield 16 are welded to each other in such a way as keeping the bent sections thereof aligned with each other. In mounting the shields 15 and 16 on a mask 4, an angle formed therewith is specified at a value between 85 and 90 degrees. According to this construction, an overscan beam 11 is first reflected with the inner beam shield 15 and further reflected with the inner magnetic shield 16, thus traveling in a direction opposite to the mask 4. Consequently, the beam 11 does not reach a phosphor screen and the deterioration of color purity can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To acquire an electron lens with little aberration and no halation, by furnishing at least two permanent magnets combined in the direction of the same magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:Permanent magnets 1 and 2 for an electron lens are arranged in front of an anode 7, and the magnetic pole plates 3 installed at the both magnets act as a spacer, at the same time, to adjust accurately. Instead of the pole plates, accurate adjusting coils can be used. It is effective practically to adjust the magnets so that the half width of the magnetic flux density distri bution on the Z axis is equal to the value of 80-200% of the inside diameter of the permanent magnets 1 and 2, for an electron lens.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To almost completely compensate for the increase and decrease in the magnetic flux of a focusing magnet due to the change in temperature, by disposing a temperature sensor near the focusing magnet, and controlling a direct current applied to an auxiliary focusing coil. CONSTITUTION:When the temperature of a diode D1, which serves as a temperature sensor, has gone up together with that of a magnet, an electrical current flowing through the diode increases and an electrical current applied to one input terminal of a differential amplifier OP1 decreases, so that the output of the amplifier rises. As a result, the output of a differential amplifier OP2 provided with a negative feedback circuit falls so that an electrical current i applied to an auxiliary focusing coil LM1 decreases. For that reason, a focusing magnetic flux can be kept almost constant within a practical temperature range from 20 deg.C to 70 deg.C if the initial value of the direct current applied to the auxiliary focusing coil LM1 and variable resistances VR1, VR2 are preset.
