    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode ray tube which is light in weight and an improved in damage resistant property by constructing a part or whole part of a funnel with metallic material, capable of manufacturing by utilizing ordinary manufacturing equipment to the utmost, and to provide several joining members suitable for joining a glass part and the metal part of the cathode ray tube. SOLUTION: For the cathode ray tube with an envelope composed of a glass panel 1 and a funnel 2, constructing a part or whole part of a funnel with metallic material, a joining member 4 of which, one surface is made to have a metal surface which can be welded to the metallic part, and another surface is made to have a glass joining surface which can be joined with the glass part, is interposed between the metal part of the funnel 2 and the glass part of the envelope, and the metal part of the funnel 2 and the glass part are joined by the joining member 4.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost of manufacture while maintaining assembly accuracy of an electron gun for a cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: A cathode emitting an electron beam and a plurality of grids including first/second grids are mutually position aligned, to be assembled into an electron gun for a cathode-ray tube. Consequently, first, a first support member 1 fixing the first grid, second support member 2 fixing a spacer specifying a space of the second grid relating to this first grid and a third support member 3 fixing the cathode are mutually integrally formed by an insulator 5 through relatively rough position alignment, a base unit part 4 is prepared. Thereafter, relating to the first support member 1 of the base unit part 4, the first grid 6 is mounted. Relating to the second support member 2 of the base unit part 4, in a condition performing accurate position alignment to the first grid 6, a spacer 8 is mounted. Lastly, with regard to the third support member 3 of the base unit part, the cathode 12 is mounted in a condition performing accurate position alignment to the first grid 6.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the focusing characteristics of electron a phosphor screen by reducing an effect due to the spherical aberration of a lens formed between a cathode and the first grid. CONSTITUTION:In the cathode 1A where a heater 14 is built into a cathode body structure 13 comprising a sleeve 11 and a sleeve cap 12, and a pulverized electron emission material 2A is formed through coating or spraying onto the surface of the sleeve cap 12, a cap 16 having an opening 15 is weld fixed to the cathode body structure 13 in such a way as applied from the side where the material 2A is formed. In this case, the opening 15 of the cap 16 is made to have a smaller diameter d0 than the electron beam transmission hole of the first grid. Thereafter, the electron emission material 2A is formed on the whole surface of the cap 16 via a coating or spraying process, thereby being buried in the opening 15. Then, the material 2A formed on the surface of the cap 16 other than the opening 15 is removed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To fit an electron gun of excellent characteristic by decreasing improper landing and cut off voltage dispersion or the like. CONSTITUTION:The third, fourth and fifth grids 11 to 13 of constituting a main lens system are performed with beading with pins 11a to 13a as a contact. However in a prefocus system, beading of only a pin 15a for the second grid 15 is performed as a contact. The first grid 17 and the second grid 15 or the like are built separately from the main lens system. Thereafter, the prefocus system is welded to the pin 15a and integrally formed with the main lens system. Accordingly, since beading of the prefocus system is not performed, a pressure at the time of beading is not applied to each part of the prefocus system, and these parts can be prevented from being deformed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture an electron gun cathode structure capable of specifying the distance between a first grid and a second grid more accurately, with no dispersion. CONSTITUTION:For manufacturing an electron gun cathode structure, a member 21 provided with the first and second faces 21b, 21c having the step between the first and second faces 21b, 21c equal to a distance d12 is prepared. The first grid 16 is mounted on the first face 21b, then a spacer 15 is mounted on the second face 21c. An insulator 17 is mounted on the first grid 16 and the spacer 15. The first grid 16 and the spacer 15 are fixed to the plane l7a of the insulator 17 while the insulator 17 is pressed to the member 21 side. The face 15a of the spacer 15 on the opposite side to the face fixed to the insulator 17 is polished so that the distance d12 becomes the desired value.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase the thickness of an insulating layer formed to the periphery, and to improve dielectric strength by bringing a rate occupied by an aggregate in the raw materials of a ceramic resistor to 57wt.% or more. CONSTITUTION:With a discharge inhibit resistor 5, Al, etc., are flame-sprayed at both end sections of a ceramic resistor 10 composed of the integral structure of a resistance layer 11 and an insulating layer 12 and conductive sections 13 are shaped, and electrode caps 14 consisting of a conductive metallic material such as stainless are fitted and disposed to the conductive sections 13. The ceramic resistor 10 is manufactured in such a manner that an aggregate, a conductive material, a binding material and a sintering assisting material are mixed, and pressure-molded in a columnar shape and baked. The rate of the aggregate mainly comprising Al2O3 particularly in raw materials is brought to 57wt.% or more. Accordingly, the thickness of the insulating layer can be increased, and dielectric strength can be improved.
