Abstract:
A printing apparatus having a stop unit (22) which, if the amount of ink emission in a first print head A is set to a value at or below a preset threshold value, such as 002 in terms of a picture printing data signal, and if the amount of ink emission in a second print head B is set to a value higher than the preset threshold value, a discharge of dilution liquid from the first print head A is stopped in keeping with the stop of the ink emission in the first print head A. The stop unit thereby suppresses the discharge of excess dilution liquid to inhibit generation of tone jump or pseudo contour, as well as to improve the picture printing speed and to enable high quality picture printing.
Abstract:
A carrier jet printer (40) includes an output characteristic conversion circuit (41) for converting an input signal that includes information on dots to be printed into a print signal that is necessary for printing by performing predetermined conversion processing on the input signal, and a printer head (30) for printing dots on a recording medium by forming an ink liquid for each dot by mixing ink and a dilute based on the print signal so that the density of the ink liquid corresponds to that of the dot, and jetting the ink liquid onto the recording medium. The output characteristic conversion circuit (41) converts the input signal into the print signal so that the printer head mixes the ink into the dilute even in a case where printing is performed based on an input signal that includes information on a dot of the lowest density.
Abstract:
An ink jet printer apparatus includes a print head (65) and a color correction processor. The print head is scanned relatively to a recording medium in a main scan direction and a perpendicular auxiliary scan direction. The print head comprises M recording heads (66-69) arranged in the main scan direction while displaced from one another by L dots in the auxiliary scan direction, and each having N color recording elements. In an interleave operation, the M recording heads are fed in the auxiliary scan direction by P dots, then scanned in the main direction. This cycle is performed (K-1) times. The next one auxiliary feeding operation is by an interval of S dots. P/K is an irreducible fraction, P is an integer smaller than N•K/(K-1) and S is set to äK•Nü-äP(K-1)ü, and when M>1, for M≤K and L•M≤K, L is set to a positive integer. Alternatively, when M≤K and L•M> K, L is set to a positive integer so that L/K is equal to an irreducible fraction. The color correction processor supplies print data to the print head. The color correction processor performs color correction processing, suitable for the recording order of the color recording elements, on image signals to be recorded.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide an on-demand type ink-jet printer which is free from the risk such that the nozzle is stopped and which is also free from the maintenance. An ink-jet print head comprises a liquid chamber (2) into which a carrier liquid (7) is filled, ink-jet driving means (3), (4) disposed within the liquid chamber (2), a nozzle (14) communicated with the liquid chamber (2) and a mixing unit (14a) disposed in the vicinity of the nozzle (14) for mixing an ink (9) into the carrier liquid (7). The ink (9) is mixed into the carrier liquid (7) in the liquid chamber (2) by the mixing unit (14a), pressed by the ink-jet driving means (3), (4) and then ink-jetted from the nozzle (14). Since the carrier liquid (7) is constantly filled into the nozzle (14), the nozzle (14) can be prevented from being choked up.
Abstract:
A method for controlling gradation in an ink jet printer is provided which includes the steps of (a) reading input picture data in first memory means (b) determining the position of a pixel under consideration from the input picture data read out from the first memory means and for calculating an error +531 =X-X', where X is input picture data of the pixel under consideration and X' is a level of plural stages to be actually printed, (c) distributing the error +531 to surrounding pixels around the pixel under consideration, (d) replacing the input picture data of the surrounding pixels, to which the error has been distributed, based on the distributed error, (e) performing the steps (a) to (d) for all input picture data by way of dithering, (f) storing the dithered pixel data resulting from the step (e) in second memory means, (g) generating, from the dithered pixel data read out from the second memory means, output picture data controlling the ink dot diameter of each pixel, (h) D/A converting the output picture data and (i) impressing an output voltage resulting from D/A conversion across an electrostriction oscillator of the printing head for variably controlling the diameter of liquid droplets of the liquid ink discharged from the printing head.

Abstract:
In an ink jet printer and a head unit of the same, a plurality of printer heads having N-pieces of nozzles respectively, which are arranged in a sub-scanning direction at K-picture element intervals in predetermined resolution so that K/N has a value of irreducible fraction, are provided so that the nozzles face in a main scanning direction in accordance with the color of ink to be ejected, and stagger from one another by L-picture elements in the sub-scanning direction. Therefore, during one scanning operation in the main scanning direction of the printer heads, only one color of ink is recorded (deposited) on the same line on a member to be recorded. This can prevent a second color ink from being recorded before the first color ink has been dried, and enables a picture of a high quality to be printed. When the printer heads are arranged so as to be staggered in a stepped manner by L-picture elements in which L

AN INK JET PRINTER APPARATUS INCLUDES A PRINT HEAD AND A COLOR CORRECTION PROCESSOR. THE PRINT HEAD IS SCANNED RELATIVELY TO A RECORDING MEDIUM IN A MAIN SCAN DIRECTION AND AN AUXILIARY SCAN DIRECTION WHICH IS PERPENDICULAR TO THE MAIN SCAN DIRECTION. THE PRINT HEAD COMPRISES RECORDING HEADS OF M WHICH ARE ARRANGED IN THE MAIN SCAN DIRECTION WHILE DISPLACED FROM ONE ANOTHER AT AN INTERVAL OF L DOTS IN THE AUXILIARY SCAN DIRECTION, EACH OF THE RECORDING HEADS HAVING COLOR RECORDING ELEMENTS OF N. WHEN IN AN INTERLEAVE OPERATION, EVERY SCANNING OPERATION, THE RECORDING HEADS OF M PERFORM AN AUXILIARY FEEDING OPERATION AT AN INTERVAL OF P DOTS AT (K-1) TIMES AND THEN PERFORM AN AUXILIARY FEEDING OPERATION AT AN INTERVAL OF S DOTS ONCE, P/K IS SET AS AN IRREDUCIBLE FRACTION, P IS SET TO AN INTEGER SMALLER THAN N·K/(K-1) AND S IS SET TO K·N-P(K-1), AND WHEN M>1, FOR M K, L IS SET TO A POSITIVE INTEGER, AND THE RECORDING HEADS ARE ARRANGED WHILE DISPLACED FROM ONE ANOTHER AT THE INTERVAL OF L DOTS SO THAT L/N IS EQUAL TO AN IRREDUCIBLE FRACTION. THE COLOR CORRECTION PROCESSOR SUPPLIED PRINT DATA TO THE PRINT HEAD. THE COLOR CORRECTION PROCESSOR PERFORMS COLOR CORRECTION PROCESSING SUITABLE FOR THE RECORDING ORDER OF THE COLOR RECORDING ELEMENTS ON IMAGE SIGNALS TO BE RECORDED.
