An information processing device according to one embodiment of the present art comprises a control unit. The control unit: detects whether there is a change in the state of cells on the basis of an optical image of cells in culture, the optical image being captured at a first imaging interval; and, when the state change is detected, switches the imaging mode from the first imaging interval to a second imaging interval that is shorter than the first imaging interval.
