To provide a device for downloading a digital content file. An information processor stores, in an external storage device, a digital content file obtained from a server through a network through packet communication. The information processor includes a download control section for keeping a recording area having a size which is equal to the data size of the digital content file in the external storage device and storing the packets in order from the earliest to the latest obtained, in this recording area; and a resume data generation section for generating a resume data indicating the progress of obtaining the digital content file. The download control section stores the resume data in the subject recording area and removes the resume data from the recording area when the last packet is obtained.

An information processing device for downloading content from a content distribution server via a network includes a mounting unit configured such that a storage media is detachably mounted thereto, a downloading unit arranged to receive content to be downloaded from the content distribution server, and to record the received content on the storage media, an interruption processing unit arranged to record resuming information necessary for resuming an interrupted content download on the storage media in the event that the reception for the content from the content distribution server by the downloading unit is interrupted, and a resuming processing unit arranged to read the resuming information from the storage media in the event of resuming the reception of the interrupted content, and to transmit a transmission request for the interrupted content to the content distribution server, based on the read resuming information.
Abstract:
A communication medium with fewer limitations on the directivity or available communication range, such as an IP network, is used to perform a remote control operation. Since two-way communication can be carried out between a remote controller and a device to be operated, it is possible to provide more reliable communication by means of a delivery confirmation, to handle a GUI-based complex command scheme, and to provide large-volume data transmission, such as moving-image streaming, using relatively broad bands. A television receiver to be operated by the remote controller distributes moving-image data, such as a child view, to an IP remote controller through an IP network so that the data can be viewed on the IP remote controller.

Disclosed herein are a disc recording medium (1), a recording apparatus and a playback apparatus, more concretely, the present invention provides a disc recording medium (1) wherein a circular track is created in advance to be used for recording data as a groove (GV) or a land (L), said track is wobbled to contain approximately fixed number of wobbling periods as counted in a longitudinal direction of said track, and said track includes rotational-angle marks each showing a predetermined rotational angular position on said disc recording medium. As a result, the precision and the reliability of recording can be attained.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform remote control operation by utilizing a communication medium which has less restriction concerning directivity such as an IP network and a communicable range.SOLUTION: Since bi-directional communication is possible between a remote controller and an operation targeted device, it is possible to perform certain communication by delivery confirmation, to handle a complicated command system using GUI operation, and to transmit large-capacity data such as moving image streaming by using a comparatively wide band. A television receiver as a remote-controlled object distributes moving image data such as a slave screen to an IP remote controller through an IP network, and the moving image data can be viewed at a side of the IP remote controller.

SOLUTION: Display reproduction parts 6-8 and an operation control part 9 store, when an operation instruction for changing a reproduction position of acoustic data is input, a plurality of pieces of index information showing a plurality of dividing positions of acoustic data temporarily stored in a buffer part and acoustic data corresponding to the index information by streaming reproduction processing of acoustic data transmitted from content supply parts 1-3. Based on the index information for which the instruction is input, the acoustic data corresponding to the index information is reproduced, and the acoustic data retained in the buffer part is successively reproduced. SOLUTION: If program starting preprocessing is executed for a hard disk drive 16 and it is normally completed, processing execution starting programs that are read out from the hard disk are started. If the program starting preprocessing is not normally completed, diagnosis starting programs that are stored in a ROM 14 or a RAM 15 are started. Subsequently, diagnosis processing is executed according to diagnosis programs stored in the ROM 14 or the RAM 15. Thereby, even if the processing execution starting programs cannot be read out from the hard disk due to abnormal completion of the program starting preprocessing, the diagnosis starting programs are surely started using the ROM 14 or the RAM 15, and then diagnosis processing can be executed according to the diagnosis programs. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring the number of sheets capable of accurately counting the number of sheets with excellent workability. SOLUTION: Filtering processing to enhance paper boundary parts is carried out to an image obtained by scanning a line CCD sensor along the height direction of a sheet mountain, and the contrast data of the boundary parts are added to the boundary directions so that contrast data distribution can be created. A contrast data threshold is calculated with respect to the obtained contrast data distribution, and the brighter areas are extracted as boundaries. Also, the number of the boundary parts lower than the contrast data threshold is compensated by a compensation process to certify the existence of the boundaries.
