Abstract: An automatic focusing system includes a photo-sensitive element for receiving light passing a main lens system of a camera. The photo-sensitive element produces a distance indicative signal based on the received light. The main lens system is driven to a position to focus upon an object on the basis of the distance indicative signal from the photo-sensitive element. The system is also provided with an auxiliary light generating element for emitting an auxiliary light to the object. The auxiliary light generating element is activated while distance measurement is performed for focusing operation in order to enable the automatic focusing system to perform a distance measurement and focus upon the object even in dark environmental conditions or upon dark objects. The auxiliary light generating element may be selected to emit an infrared light beam or a far infrared light beam.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the pause operation of audio reproducing at the time of reproducing an audio signal from a magnetic disk recorded respectively a still picture video signal and a time base compressed audio signal to respective tracks. CONSTITUTION:A time base compressed audio signal reproduced from the audio track of the magnetic disk 1 is written to an audio memory 11 after converted to a digital signal. The time base expanded digital audio signal is generated from the audio memory 11. The digital audio signal is taken out to an audio output terminal. An audio pause switch is provided on a key switch unit 16 and the on of a pause operation and the off of the pause operation is performed alternately for every one depression of the switch. When the pause operation is turned on, the change of the read out address of the memory 11 is stopped. When the pause operation is turned off, the change of the read out address of the memory 11 is started again.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reproduce for a long period without damaging a magnetic disk due to the friction of a magnetic disk and a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:The analog reproducing signal of a magnetic disk 1 to which a still picture/voice signal is recorded is converted to a digital reproducing signal by A/D converters 13 and 17. The digital reproducing signal is stored into an image memory 14 and a voice memory 18. The stored digital reproducing signal is converted to an analog reproducing signal by D/A converters 21 and 24. The analog reproducing signal is supplied through an output terminal 25A and an output terminal 25B to a television monitor 22. Here, when the input is not performed from a keyboard 11 within the time enough to store the reproducing signal in the image memory 14 and the voice memory 18, the control signal is supplied from a system controller 4 to a motor control circuit 3 and the signal to stop the rotation of the magnetic disk 1 is supplied from the motor control circuit 3 to a spindle motor 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure autofocus operation for not only a bright object, but also even a dark object by providing an auxiliary light generating element of simple constitution to a passive type autofocusing device. CONSTITUTION:A filter 7 has the 1st filter characteristic curve part K51 through which light within a wavelength range of visibility characteristics is transmitted and the 2nd filter characteristic curve part K52 through which the light component of auxiliary light LSD is transmitted. When the bright object 3 is photographed, a light measurement signal SOUT is generated for a light receiving element 8 principally with a light component transmitted through the 1st filter characteristic curve K51, so that the distance measurement signal adapted to the visibility characteristics is obtained. When the dark object is photographed, the auxiliary light LSB is generated by an auxiliary generating element 13 and reflected light from the subject 3 is transmitted through the filter characteristic curve part K52 and incident on the light receiving element 8. At this time, no light component is transmitted through the filter characteristic curve part K51, so the light receiving element 8 obtains the distance measurement signal SOUT with the light component of the auxiliary light LSB.

The time base compressed digital audio signal is generated from the audio memory 11. This digital audio signal is recorded on the audio track of the magnetic disk 1 by a magnetic head 3. In a key switch 16, a sound recording pausing switch is provided and the ON/OFF of the pausing operation is performed alternately at every depressing this switch. When the pausing operation is turned on, the operation of the writing address pointer of the memory 11 is stopped. When the pausing operation is turned off, the operation of the writing address pointer of the memory 11 is started again.
