Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper tube for winding thread capable of stably forming an excellent shape of a package and easily unreeling a tail winding part. SOLUTION: The outside diameter of the paper tube at a paper tube body end on the side where a slit groove is provided satisfies the following expression (I). 5>=π×dl-1000×(V/N0)>=0.15...(I) (Where dl is the diameter [mm] of the paper tube at the paper tube body end on the side where the slit groove is provided, V is the winding speed [m/min] of the thread, and N0 is the speed of the paper tube [l/min] at the start of the winding. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for manufacturing a yarn package capable of forming a tail bunch with the desired number of turns and preventing troubles such as the failure to obtain the yarn length needed for a yarn terminating process, the unreeling of the tail bunch formed at the end of the bobbin, which may occur if the tail bunch hangs down from a winding bobbin, and the failure to perform a smooth yarn terminating process because of entanglement of the yarn in a conveying truck or a yarn terminating process device. SOLUTION: The device for manufacturing a yarn package includes a yarn winding means for winding a yarn around a bobbin; a tail bunch forming means which regulates traversing-in of the yarn wound around the bobbin; and a means for controlling the tail bunch, which is formed when the yarn is shifted from a full bobbin to another empty bobbin, to the desired number of turns, starting from the time when the yarn is captured in a slit or a yarn capturing part.
