    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve flexibility and light-guiding property and to prevent scratches by forming a hard coating film on the outermost part of a flexible multilayer light guide sheet having a specified sheet-type light guide layer and a coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The flexible light guide sheet consists of a sheet-type light-guide inner layer (A) and an intermediate layer (B) which covers wholly around the layer (A). The inner layer (A) consists of a polymer essentially comprising polymethyl methacrylate and having light transmitting performance, while the intermediate layer (B) consists of a fluorine polymer and has a smaller refractive index by 0.02 or more than the refractive index of the polymer of the inner layer (A).     Abstract: PURPOSE:To mold blank materials with uniform thickness by diffusing and shunting a core component polymer and a sheath component polymer by a long groove and annular grooves respectively and guiding them wholly to a molding slit and a molding exit. CONSTITUTION:The core component polymer A which is fused is injected into a core component polymer injection opening 2 and the sheath component polymer B which is fused is injected into a sheath component polymer injection opening 3. Consequently, the core component polymer A is guided to the molding exit 8 through the thin molding slit 5 while diffused and shunted to the right and left by the long groove 4. At the same time, the sheath component polymer B after being diffused and shunted by a 1st annular groove 6 is dispersed and flows in a 2nd annular groove 9 through respective small holes 7 and then the polymer while receiving the drawing resistance of a small gap flows in the molding exit 8 from the entire periphery and exits while covering the core component polymer A. Consequently, the sheet type photoconductor C which has the uniform-thickness sheet core material (a) covered with the uniform- thickness sheath component polymer (b) is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a lowering of mechanical physical properties and light transmitting capacity based on the generation of a weld line by using an element disturbing the flow line of a gathered fluid. CONSTITUTION:Two flows 10, 11 of a molten viscous fluid are filtered by a filter material 14 to be gathered and an element 13 disturbing said gathered fluid is interposed in the piping of a confluent part. The element 13 disturbing the flow line of this gathered fluid is composed of a sintered metal net. By this method, the physical properties of a molded processed product are enhanced and excellent capacity is obtained and, even in a case utilized in the preparation of an optical fiber, the deterioration of light transmitting properties due to a weld line is not generated and a plastic optical fiber having good capacity is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To smoothly form the title package as a sheet without being twisted or bent by mutually fusing the sheaths of plastic optical fibers having core sheath structure to form a sheet, specifying the interval between the width centers of respective sheets in the same winding layer and winding up the sheet around cheese at a fixed interval. CONSTITUTION:The sheaths of plastic optical fibers having core sheath structure are mutually fused to form a sheet and the sheets are wound up around the cheese at the fixed interval within the range of 1.1-2.0 times the fiber width W as the interval between the width centers of respective sheets in the same winding layer. Since the peeling strength of mutual constitutional fibers is high and the cheese shape is effective, an optical fiber sheet package with extremely high quality can be formed without generating wrinkles, twist, bend, etc., on the sheet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic optical fiber sheet of high quality having high peeling strength between constitutional fibers, high flexibility or tensile strength and effective translucency by holding the welding temperature of a polymer forming a welding part within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:Spinned fibers 5 discharged from a composite spinneret 4 are converged by a U-shaped, V-shaped or drum-like converging guide 6 arranged under the spinneret 4 and having curvature, the converged fibers are mutually welded to form an optical fiber sheet 7 and the sheet 7 is wound through a drawing roll 8. In case of welding the polymer forming the outermost layer of the cross section of each fiber, the welding temperature is set up within the range of inequality I. In the inequality, Tm is the melting point ( deg.C) of the polymer forming the welding part and Tg is the glass transfer point ( deg.C) of a polymer forming a core part. Consequently, the optical fiber sheet of high quality having high peeling strength between the constitutional fibers, high flexibility or tensile strength and effective translucency can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the exfoliation strength between the fibers of an optical fiber sheet formed by fusion splicing sheaths to each other and to intensify both the flexibility and tensile strength thereof by forming the sheath component of a polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer. CONSTITUTION:The sheaths of two-component two-layered composite fibers forming the optical fiber sheet shown in the figure consist of fiber component layers 1 and sheath layers 2 forming fusion splicing parts. The polyvinylidene fluoride is used for the sheath layers and polymethyl methacrylate, etc., are used for the fiber component layers 1. The polyvinylidene fluoride and the copolymer thereof have the high adhesiveness to the polymethyl methacrylate of the fiber layers 1 and the copolymer thereof and exhibit excellent characteristics in exfoliation property, flexibility and tensile strength.
