Abstract: A hygroscopic polyester copolymer contains copolymerized units derived from (1) a hydrophilic compound and (2) a cross-linking agent and has a release parameter DELTA MR of at least 12% so as to be controlled in its moisture absorbing and releasing property. Fibers containing the polyester copolymer may be formed and these may be utilized in materials for underwear, sports wear, interlinings, etc. as highly hygroscopic woven and knitted fabrics, etc.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a combined polyester filament yarn having different shrinkages, excellent in body and stiffness, soft, fullness and repulsive tough feelings and capable of further simultaneously imparting a dry tough feeling, slippage and fibrillating resistances. SOLUTION: This combined polyester filament yarn having different shrinkages comprises three kinds of fiber groups A, B and C different in shrinkage percentage and dissolving rate in a hot aqueous solution of an alkali. The ratio of the dissolving rate of the polyester forming the fiber group A to the polyester forming the fiber groups B and C is >=5 and at least the fiber group B is a polyester fiber having a fiber surface layer part in which two or more polyesters different in dissolving rate in the hot aqueous solution of the alkali are mixed in an island-in-sea form. Furthermore, the ratio of the polyester forming the island part of the fiber surface layer part to the polyester forming the sea part of the fiber surface layer part is >=5 and the fiber groups A, B and C satisfy the following formulae (1) and (2): formula (1): 10

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject fiber, having sufficient color developing properties compared with a natural fiber, and sufficiently used for a clothing use by allowing a fiber-formable polyester to include a specific copolyester to improve color-developing properties of a polyester fiber. SOLUTION: The subject fiber is obtained by allowing a fiber-formable polyester to include 0.1-25 wt.% copolyester having 50-130 deg.C glass transition temperature (Tg), substantially not crystallized, and satisfying the following conditions: (1) containing 40-90 mol.% glycol component without ethylene glycol, trimethylene glycol, tetramethylene glycol and a derivative thereof (e.g. ethylene oxide-addition product of bisphenol A) as a constituent of the copolyester; (2) having an alkali degradation rate slower than that of the fiber-formable polyester.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject combined yarn of polyester filaments with different shrinkages having soft feeling, swelling feeling, body, stiffness and resilience, and further good in dry feeling and excellent in fibrillation resistance by constituting the combined yarn out of plural fiber groups having different shrinkages and dissolving rates into a hot alkaline solution. SOLUTION: This combined yarn comprises two kinds of fiber groups A and B having different shrinkages and dissolving rates in a hot alkaline solution. The ratio of dissolving rates of the polyester forming the fiber group A to the polyester forming the fiber group B is regulated so as to be >=5, and the fiber groups A and B satisfy the formula 10

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cloth having a moisture-absorptivity, dry-touch and high color fastness sufficient for comfortable wearing by using a sheath-core conjugate fiber containing a moisture-absorbing polymer as the core and having a hollow part at the interface between the core part and the sheath part. SOLUTION: A moisture-absorbing cloth having excellent color fastness is produced by forming a sheath-core conjugate fiber composed of a core part containing =4.3μm, subjecting the conjugate fiber to dry-heat treatment at a temperature above the melting point of the core polymer and below the melting point of the sheath polymer to form a hollow part at the interface between the core part and the sheath part at a hollowness percentage of >=1.4%. weaving or knitting the conjugate fiber and dyeing the produced woven or knit fabric.
