    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester composition excellent in hydrolysis resistance and dry heat resistance, and suitable for a constituting material of a dryer canvas for a paper making, a paper making wire (a net for the paper making), a net converter for a heat adhesion process of a nonwoven fabric, a conveyer belt in a dryer or a heat treating machine and various filters, and various industrial formed materials, and a polyester monofilmanent consisting of the polyester composition. SOLUTION: The polyester composition, the polyester monofilament consisting of the polyester composition of the industrial woven fabric using the monofilament at least in part such as a dryer canvas for a paper making, etc., contain (A) 70-99.8wt.% polyester and (B) 0.2-30wt.% styrene-based polymer having a syndiotactic structure, etc., also (C) 0.04-1.5 pt.wt. un-reaceted state monocarbodiimide compound and (D) 0.05-1.5 pt.wt. polycarbodiimide compound based on 100 pts.wt. total amount of the components (A) and (B), and has g carboxyl terminal group concentration.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester composition which comprises a polyester bearing chain terminal groups of a specific structure and a carbodiimide unreactive with the polyester in an specific proportion and is excellent in resistance to hydrolysis and useful for a variety of industrial parts, clothing, magnetic tapes and the like. SOLUTION: (A) A polyester bearing more than 5 equivalents/10 g of at least one chain-terminal group of formulas I and II (R is H, N-methylene- phthalimide, N-methylene-alkyl-substituted phthalimide, a 1-20C alkyl, phenyl; X is H, a reaction residue of carbodiimide) contains (B) 0.005-1.5wt.% of an unreactive carbodiimide (preferably N,N'-di-2,6-diisopropylphenylcarbodiimide). The component A is suitably polyethylene terephthalate or polybutylene terephthalate. Polyester monofilaments can be produced from this polyester composition and woven fabrics for industrial purposes are produced therefrom.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a polyester fiber having excellent stain-proofing properties and hydrolytic resistance and a required and sufficient strength as various industrial woven fabrics, etc., and a composition therefor. SOLUTION: This polyester composition comprises a polymer component containing 99.9-70wt.% polyester having g terminal carboxyl group concentration and 0.1-30wt.% copolymer of propylene and vinylidene fluoride and further contains 0.005-1.5wt.% carbodiimide compound in an unreacted state therein. Furthermore, the polyester monofilament or multifilament yarn or industrial woven fabric such as a canvas for a papermaking dryer, a papermaking wire, a filter or a conveyor net used in a bonding process for heat bonding a nonwoven fabric using the monofilament is composed of the polyester composition comprising the polymer component.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polyester which is suitable for blended yarn fabric with cotton, useful as clothes and working clothes and has improved flame retardance and feeling, by blending polyester with a specific phosphorus compound and a metallic compound of Mg, Li or Ca. CONSTITUTION:(A) A raw material component having a repeating constituent unit comprising >=70mol% ethylene terephthalate is reacted and, at the early stage of polymerization, (B) 0.8-3.0wt% based on the component A of a phosphorus compound [e.g. (2-carboxyethyl)methylphosphinic acid, etc.] shown by formula I[R1 and R2 are H, 1-18C alkyl, etc.; R3 is aryl, etc.; A is (CnH2n) and n is 1-4] and (C) one or more metallic compounds of Mg, Li and Ca are added to the component A in such a way that correlation shown by formula II(P is amount of the component B added based on acid component; M is amount of the metallic element added based on the acid component) is satisfied and polycondensation is carried out to give the aimed polyester.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition having excellent hydrolysis resistance and dry-heat resistance by forming a mixture comprising a polyester, an olefin polymer, a monocarbodiimide compound in an unreacted state and a polycarbodiimide compound and having a specified terminal carboxyl concentration. SOLUTION: A mixture is formed by mixing a polyester (A) such as polyethylene terephthalate having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.7 or above with a cycloolefin polymer (B) represented by the formula (wherein n is 0 or 1; m is 0 or a positive integer; q is 0 or 1; and R to R are each H, Cl, Br, a hydrocarbon group or the like) (e.g. bicyclo(2,2,1)hept-2-ene derivative), a monocarbodiimide compound (C) and a polycarbodiimide compound (D). This mixture is melt-kneaded to obtain a composition comprising 70-99.8wt.% component A, 0.2-30wt.% component B, 0.01-1.5 pts.wt., per 100 pts.wt. total of components A and B, component C and 0.05-1.5 pts.wt. component D and having a terminal carboxyl concentration of 10 equivalents/10 g or below.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the polyester monofilament for dryer canvas for paper-making process resistant to hydrolysis and staining by mixing a specific polymonochlorotrifluoroethylene with a carbodiimide, continuously adding the mixture to a polyester and spinning and drawing the product. CONSTITUTION:A polymonochlorotrifluoroethylene having an average molecular weight of 400-1,500 is dissolved and mixed with a carbodiimide compound (e.g. N,N'-di-2,6-diisopropylphenylcarbodiimide). The obtained liquid composition is continuously supplied to a polyester chip at the inlet port of an extruder and the mixture is spun in molten state through a spinneret 1 having almost rectangular form and subjected to drawing and heat-setting to obtain the objective polyester monofilament having a terminal carboxyl group concentration of g of the polyester, containing 0.005-1.5wt.% of the carbodiimide compound in unreacted state and containing 0.1-10wt.% of polymonochlorotrifluoroethylene having an average molecular weight of 400-1,500.
