Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a deep-drawn helmet having light weight and excellent strength, impact penetration resistance, etc., by placing a shock absorber inside of a cap made of an FRP containing a woven fabric produced by weaving a flat reinforcing fiber yarn having a specific dimension. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber 13 is placed inside of a cap 12 made of an FRP containing a woven fabric produced by weaving a flat reinforcing fiber yarn having a width of 3-16mm and a width/thickness ratio of >=20. The woven fabric has low mesh stretch ratio and high covering factor. A uniform molded article can be produced by the molding of the FRP without causing the generation of void in the resin and the non-uniform distribution of the fibers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title precursor having excellent reeling properties and productivity, by attaching a finishing oil to acrylonitrile-based yarn tow comprising drawn filaments, winding and heat-treating at a specific temperature for a specific time. CONSTITUTION:For example, an acrylonitrile-based polymer comprising >=85wt.% acrylonitrile is spun and drawn to give acrylonitrile-based yarn tow having >=1,000 filaments, which is provided with preferably >=0.05wt.% finishing oil (e.g. polybutene), wound and heat-treated in an atmosphere at 60-120 deg.C, preferably 70-100 deg.C for at least 6 hours, preferably 7-24 hours to give the objective precursor.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric suitable for clothes, interior goods, etc., by melting and extruding polybutylene terephtalate together with other thermoplastic polymer in a specific state, fibrillating the extruded fiber with an air ejector and collecting the fibrillated fibers. CONSTITUTION:The objective conjugate filament nonwoven fabric can be produced by melting and extruding two or more kinds of polymers consisting of (A) polybutylene terephthalate and (B) one or more kinds of other thermoplastic polymers through a spinneret for forming an eccentric core/sheath or a side-by-side conjugate fiber, sucking the extruded fiber with an air ejector at a high speed to effect the fibrillation of the fiber, ejecting the fibrillated fibers from the other end of said ejector together with air flow and collecting the obtained crimped web on a receptor.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To recover carbon fibers at a high yield and to recycle them obviating the need of reclamation by treating carbon fiber reinforced plastic in a specified gas atomosphere without combustion and decomposing the plastic thermally. CONSTITUTION:In a method for treating carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), CFRP is treated in a gas atomosphere of oxygen content 3-18vol.% and of temperature 300-600 deg.C without combustion to decompose the plastic thermally. During the treatment, the temperature of CFRP increases gradually from its outer part and after a while the temperature, as a whole, reaches that of the atomosphere. In this process, the plastic having a hypergolic property decomposes thermally not only from its outer part but also from its inner part. On the other hand, since the carbon fibers are embedded in the plastic and surrounded by it, they are protected from being oxidized until the completion of the thermal decomposition of the plastic. Accordingly, if the treatment is ended at the completion of the thermal decomposition of the plastic, the carbon fibers can be protected from oxidation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject device comprising a specific structure, capable of constantly maintaining a distance between a spinneret and a coagulating bath for a long period of time and further capable of stationarily and stably producing high quality fibers without being affect by the atmospheric temperature. CONSTITUTION:The objective device comprising a spinneret 6, an arm 3 for supporting the spinneret, a support 5 equipped with a height adjuster 4, and a coagulating bath 11 is characterized by fixing the spinneret 6 to the arm 3, loading the arm 3 on a the support 5 fixed to the upper part of the coagulating bath 11 in parallel, and arranging the arm 3 at a near position apart

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject non-woven fabric excellent in chemical resistance, electrical insulating properties, light weight properties, etc., by conjugating two or more kinds of fiber yarns of polymethylpentene and other thermoplastic polymers mutually adjacent and continuous in the longitudinal direction of the fibers and using the resultant conjugated fibers. CONSTITUTION:By separately melting 30-97wt.% polymethylpentene preferably having 10-100 melt flow rate at 260 deg.C and two or more kinds of thermoplastic polymers selected from polyolefin and polyester, making the molten material flow together in a conjugate spinning nozzle and extruding it, webs in which the respective constituting polymers are continuous in the longitudinal direction and mutually adjacent in the direction of the cross-section are collected on a receptive vessel together with air flow at a high speed. The collected webs are heat pressed at 110-220 deg.C, thus obtaining the objective non-woven fabric having >=0.1g/cm density. In addition, the above mentioned non-woven fabric is formed without using an external adhesive component but by selfadhesion of the above mentioned conjugated filaments.
