    Abstract: A waterless lithographic plate is obtained by sequentially laminating a photosensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer on a substrate. The bonding strength between the photosensitive layer and the silicone rubber layer is 5 to 100 g/cm and an initial elastic modulus of the photosensitive layer after exposure is 5 to 75 kgf/mm . The present invention pays a specific attention to the bonding strength between the photosensitive layer and the silicone rubber layer before exposure. The enhanced bonding strength and the decreased elastic modulus of the exposed photosensitive layer decelerate plate wear and improve image reproducibility. Accordingly, the present invention provides a waterless lithographic plate for commercial rotary offset printing press and newspaper press.

    Abstract: TREATMENT OF IMAGE-FORMING LAMINATED PLATE An image-forming laminated plate, particularly a dry planographic printing unprocessed plate, comprising a base substrate, a photosensitive layer containing a substance with quinonediazide structure and a silicone rubber layer in laminating order is treated with a base after imagewise exposure. In addition, the image-forming laminated plate may be subjected to a whole surface slight exposure to the extent that 5 to 60 molar % of the quinonediazide structure in the photosensitive layer to be exposed is photo-decomposed into carboxylic acid structure before or after the usual imagewise exposure for obtaining a negative working plate, or the image-forming laminated plate may be subjected to a imagewise slight exposure to the same extent without the usual imagewise exposure for obtaining a positive working plate. The base-treatment alone or in combination with the slight exposure enhances both the adhesion of the photosensitive layer to the silicone rubber layer and the solvent resistance of the photosensitive layer in non-image areas.

The photosensitive layer contains a diamine derivative represented by the following general formula (1): in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently hydrogen or a hydrocarbon, substituted hydrocarbon, acyl or substituted acyl, group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R5 and R6 are each independently hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and any of the groups R5 and R6 is optionally alternatively bonded to either of the methylene groups remote from the oxygen (as shown in formula 1), or adjacent the oxygen, in the ether chain, and n is 1 to 50.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a water-less lithographic raw plate, in which a photosensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer are laminated in this order on a substrate, comprising: the peel bonding strength between the photosensitive layer and the silicone rubber layer being 5 to 100 g/cm, and the initial elastic modulus of the photosensitive layer after completion of exposure being 5 to 75 kgf/mm2. In the present invention, attention is paid to the peel bonding strength between the photosensitive layer and the silicone rubber layer before exposure, and it is intensified, while the photosensitive layer after completion of exposure is kept lower in elastic modulus, to provide a water-less lithographic printing plate excellent in printing durability and image reproducibility. Therefore, the water-less lithographic printing plate obtained is suitable for commercial web offset printing and newspaper web offset printing.
