Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a printing plate of which image formation is done by photoirradiation, having a front side covered with a peelable or removable protective layer which contains a photofading material. The printing plate is safe against fogging to light and can be used under ordinary illumination.

Abstract: Provided is a non-processed plate for waterless lithographic printing plates, which comprises a photosensitive layer, an ink-repellent layer and a protective layer as laminated in that order on a support and in which the photosensitive layer contains a polymerizable compound as obtained by reacting a glycidyl ether of a polyalcohol, such as hexitol or pentitol, with acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid. The plate has good image reproducibility and good storage stability. Processing the plate gives waterless lithographic printing plates having good printing durability.

Abstract: A waterless lithographic plate is obtained by sequentially laminating a photosensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer on a substrate. The bonding strength between the photosensitive layer and the silicone rubber layer is 5 to 100 g/cm and an initial elastic modulus of the photosensitive layer after exposure is 5 to 75 kgf/mm . The present invention pays a specific attention to the bonding strength between the photosensitive layer and the silicone rubber layer before exposure. The enhanced bonding strength and the decreased elastic modulus of the exposed photosensitive layer decelerate plate wear and improve image reproducibility. Accordingly, the present invention provides a waterless lithographic plate for commercial rotary offset printing press and newspaper press.

Abstract: A directly imageable raw plate for a waterless planographic printing plate, in which a heat insulating layer, heat sensitive layer and ink repellent layer are formed in that order on a substrate, comprising physical properties of 5 to 100 kgf/mm in initial elastic modulus and 0.05 to 5 kgf/mm in 5% stress as tensile properties of the heat sensitive layer or the heat insulating layer or the laminate consisting of both the layers. It can be suitably used also for large printing presses and web offset printing presses requiring high printing durability, and makes it possible to obtain an economically advantageous printing plate.
