    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce pressure drop by arranging a filter member consisting of polytetrafluoroethylene-base modified cross-section fiber to the midway part of a cylindrical vessel and providing both a supplying port of gas to be treated and a discharging port of separated liquid to the lower side thereof. CONSTITUTION:The gas to be treated is supplied into a cylindrical vessel 1 through the supplying port 2 and passed through a filter member 5. In this case, mist is allowed to collide against the surface of polytetrafluoroethylene- base modified cross-section fiber 6, collected and falls as droplets and is discharged through a discharging port 3. On the other hand, only the gas is exhausted through an exhausting port 4. In case of utilizing such fiber stock as the filter member, pressure drop is reduced because it has large porosity and mist collecting efficiency is improved.
