Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film prepared in such a manner that a plastic film is embossed to eliminate its minute surface defect but does not give rise to a trouble with a subsequent processing step because of a decrease in the height of protrusions of the embossed film when it passes through a thermal treatment of a fabrication step (e.g. the manufacture of a liquid crystal coating film) and also minimize the transfer of step trace of a core to the rolled film and thereby, increase the production yield of the film. SOLUTION: This embossed plastic film has the protrusions described in (1) and (2) arranged in the longer direction of the plastic film. In addition, the film is characterized in that the height of the protrusions decreases to such an extent that it is equal to 10% or less of the original height following a thermal treatment at 200 deg.C for 5 minutes. (1) Height of the protrusion: 2-T μm (T; the thickness of film: μm) (2) Area percentage of the protrusion (W): 0.5-15% (when the area of the protrusion is given as [y] and the area of the plastic film as [w], (W) is calculated by y/w×100).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate speedup and the saving of a space and to perform stretching by setting the product part and edge parts of the film to uniform temp. by heating the plastic film to temp. higher than preheating temp. necessary for raising the temp. of the film to objective stretching temp. SOLUTION: A plastic film 1 is fed from the upstream side in the feed direction of the plastic film 1 to the downstream side thereof through preheating rolls 2-6 equipped with heat treatment devices to be raised in its temp. to an objective stretching temp. When the temp. before the preheating of the film 1 is rapidly raised to the objective stretching temp. from 80 deg.C, for example, to a temp. of 110 deg.C, the set temp. of the preheating roll on the upstream side in the feed direction of the plastic film 1 is set to temp. higher than the objective set temp. For example, the temp. of a product part is raised to temp. higher than the objective stretching temp., for example, by 3 deg.C and the edge part of the film is rapidly raised in temp. and, thereafter, the temp. of the preheating roll is set to the objective set temp. to eliminate the temp. difference between the product part and the edge part at a time of stretching.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate a plastic film which is unreleased on the surface of a casting roll. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a plastic film comprises the steps of inserting a sheet 4 having a wider width than the extruding width of a slit die and a through hole between the slit die and a casting roll before extruding a filmlike sheet 3a from the die, extruding the sheet 3a of a melted state on the sheet, solidifying it while moving the sheet 3a together with the sheet 4, and then releasing it from the roll surface.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of palpus and chips when a sheet form article is cut by a shear cutter. SOLUTION: In a cutting device of sheet form article which cuts the sheet form articles running continuously, by a shear cutter consisting of plural upper blades and lower blades provided in the width direction, the positioning relation in the sheet form article width direction of the upper blades 22 and the lower blades 23 of the shear cutter which are positioned at both sides in the width direction of the sheet form article to be cut in the band form, is made in the reversal positioning relation. Consequently, the pushing in direction of the upper blade of the shear cutter can be specified in an optimum direction at both sides, and the rubbing of the cutting end surfaces each other when band form cut films are separated can be suppressed at the minimum limit.
