    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the hydrolytic and heat resistance of the titled monofilaments, by adding an aromatic monocarbodiimide to a polyester resin, using a polymeric streamline changing apparatus provided just before a spinneret, and specifying the molten polymer temperature and average residence time in the spinning machine in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A polyester resin consisting of polyethylene terephthalate essentially having an intrinsic viscosity (eta)>=0.6 and a terminal carboxyl group concentration g essentially is mixed with an aromatic monocarbodiimide compound in an amount of 10-100 eqiuvalents/10 g. In melt spinning the resultant mixture, a polymer streamline changing apparatus is provided just before a spinneret, and the mixture is spun under conditions of the average residence time tau(min) of the polymer and the temperature T( deg.C) of the polymer in the spinning machine satisfying formulasIand II.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain polyester which has good brihtness and transparency and forms fiber easily, by a method wherein terephthalic acid contg. p-formylbenzoic acid is esterified with ethylene glycol, then a phosphorus cpd., a cobalt cpd. and inorg. particles are added to the reaction mixt. and the resulting mixt. is subjected to polycondensation. CONSTITUTION:(A) Dicarboxylic acids consisting mainly of terephthalic acid contg. 100-1000ppm of p-formylbenzoic acid are esterified with (B) glycols consisting mainly of ethylene glycol until an esterification rate of not less than 95% is obtained. To the reaction mixt. are added (C) a phosphorus cpd, a cobalt cpd and inorg. particles having an average particle diameter of not more than 5mu and a refractive index of 1.40-1.70 in an amount determined by the formula I,II and III [wherein (P), (Co) are amounts added (based on each R atom) (ppm vs polymer), (FBA) is p-formylbenzoic acid content in terephthalic acid (ppm vs terephthalic acid), (Par) is amount of inorg, particles added (ppm vs polymer)]. The resulting mixt. is subjected to polycondensation to produce polyester.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled monofilament that has a specific intrinsic viscosity and terminal carboxyl concentration and contains a specific amount of 2,6,2',6'- tetraisopropyldiphenylcarbodiimide, thus being used in filter cloth with high hydrolysis and heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:A polyester that is mainly composed of polyethylene terephthalate and has an intrinsic viscosity of more than 0.6 and a terminal carboxyl concentration of less than 10 equiv./10 g. polymer is combined with 0.005- 1.5wt% 2,6,2',6'-tetraisopropyldiphenylcarbodiimide, then subjected to melt spinning. Then, content of phosphorus in the polymer is less than 50ppm and preferably satisfies the equation: P (P is mol% of the phosphorus atom based on the dibasic acid in the polyester; M is mol% of the metal atom of the dibasic acid in the polyester).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title material which can keep adhesive force even after exposure to high temperature for a long time in rubber, by a method wherein polyester fibers are treated with an aqueous dispersion of a blocked isocyanate and then with a liquid mixture of a specified reaction mixture and rubber latex. CONSTITUTION:First, polyester fibers are treated with an aqueous dispersion (or an aqueous solution mainly composed of said dispersion) of a blocked polyisocyanate compound (preferably having an isocyanate group bound to an aromatic nucleus) and then with a liquid mixture obtained by, preferably, first mixing a resorcinol/formaldehyde precondensate with rubber latex, then adding to this mixture a compound of the formula (where X is Cl, Br etc; Y, Z are H, OH etc.; n is 1-3), e.g., 2,6-bis (2',4'-dihydroxyphenylmethyl)-4-chlorophenol, and aging the obtained mixture at 15-35 deg.C for 24hr or more.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title material having constant, high adhesive force and excellent bonding heat resistance, by treating polyester fibers with processing liquid containing a reaction mixture of a specified compound with resorcinol/ formaldehyde precondensate and rubber latex. CONSTITUTION:Preferably resorcinol/formaldehyde precondensate (A) and rubber latex (B) (e.g., butadiene latex) are mixed before a compound (C) of the formula (wherein Y, Z are H, OH, Cl etc.; n is an integer of 1-3)[e.g., 2,6-bis(2',4'- dihydroxyphenylmethyl)-4-fluorophenol]is added, and the mixture is aged at 15-35 deg.C for 24hr or more to obtain processing liquid containing a reaction mixture formed by the condensation of components A and C and component B. Said processing liquid is applied to polyester fibers and heat-treated usually at 10-200 deg.C for 1-10min to obtain the desired material. USE:Reinforcing material for large tires.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the reactivity for epoxy compounds, by adding an alkali metal carbonate, etc. and a phosphorus compound separately to a reaction system at a specific point of the esterification reaction to form a polyester, and adding a monofunctional epoxy compound thereto in melt spinning. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metal carbonate or borate and a phosphorus compound at a weight ratio satisfying the formula 1.5 =95% esterification reaction ratio. The resultant reaction mixture is polycondensed to form a polyester, and a monofunctional epoxy compound in an amount of 0.1-10wt% based on the polyester is added thereto before or in melt spinning of the polyester. The reaction of terminal carboxyl groups in the polyester with the monofunctional epoxy compound is accelerated.
