    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn having excellent heat dimensional stability, fatigue resistance and strength, by subjecting melt spinning a polymer having high polymerization degree comprising hexamethylene adipamide units and satisfying fiber structure parameters in specific ranges. CONSTITUTION:A polymer having high polymerization degree comprising >=95mol% hexamethylene adipamide units, having >=3.0 relative viscosity measured in sulfuric acid is subjected to melt spinning and the resultant fiber is made to satisfy following conditions to afford the aimed yarn, suitable for an industrial material; having fc >=0.93(fc is crystal orientation degree measured by wide angle X-ray diffraction method), F >=0.86(F is amorphous molecular orientation degree by fluorescent polarized light method), Dm= 90-110Angstrom , D >=130Angstrom (Dm is long period in the direction to fiber axis measured by small angle X-ray diffraction method, De is long period in the direction perpendicular to fiber axis), Talpha =232 deg.C (Tm is DSC melting point measured by Zep method).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for melt spinning hardly causing an increase in filtration pressure due to the production of a copper compound or metallic copper insoluble in a molten polyamide and deteriorating the yarn manufacturing properties by stably and electrochemically inactivating the surface of a pack member at a low cost. SOLUTION: This apparatus for melt spinning in which a coating film comprising an oxide, a nitride or a carbide of any metal of Si, Ti, Zr, Al, W, B, Ta and Ge and/or a heat-resistant resin is formed in a part thereof to be brought into contact with a molten polyamide is used when carrying out the melt spinning of a polyamide containing a copper salt. The coating film is composed of, e.g. at least one compound selected from the group consisting of SiO2 , TiO2 , ZrO2 , Al2 O3 , SiC, TiN, TiCN and TiC, a polyorganosiloxane or a polyimide.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and stably form a layer coating the surfaces of the parts to interrupt the contact of the molten polymer with the surfaces in a melt- extrusion spinning machine and satisfactorily inhibit the gelation and deterioration caused by the direct contact between the melt-extrusion spinning machine and the molten polymer. SOLUTION: In a melt-extrusion spinning machine for synthetic fibers, the surfaces of the spinning machine are coated with a layer comprising oxides, nitrides or carbides of any metal selected from among Si, Ti, Zr, Al, W, B, Ta and Ge. SiO2 , TiO2 , ZrO2 and Al2 O3 are preferred as the coating layer. As parts in the melt-spinning machine to be coated with the metal compound, are cited the inner walls of the spinneret and/or the filtration material.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve filtration characteristics and a filter medium life by a method wherein, in the subject platy filter medium composed of a metallic fiber having a specific quantity of an airflow, a surface of the metallic fiber is coated with a heat resistant film substantially composed of oxides, nitrides or carbides of metals of Si, Ti, Zr, W, B, Ta, Ge, etc. SOLUTION: In a platy filter medium composed of a metallic fiber an airflow quantity of which at 30 mm H2 O in differential pressure is 0.5 to 10 L/cm /min, a surface of the metallic fiber is coated with a heat resistant film substantially composed of oxides, nitrides or carbides of at least one kind of metals selected from the group consisting of Si, Ti, Zr, Al, W, B, Ta and Ge. The film coating the surface of the metallic fiber is preferably formed by a wet method. Contact of a polymer with the surface of the metallic fiber is broken thereby to inhibit generation of foreign matters on the surface of the metallic fiber by reaction of the metal with the polymer. Further, in order to achieve a further higher filtration precision and a long life, the platy filter medium is preferably a sintered metallic fiber nonwoven fabric.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain polycaproamide fiber yarn having high orientation degree, high strength and excellent thermal dimensional stability by subjecting polycaproamide chips having a specific relative viscosity to melt spinning, direct drawing to give intermediate orientated fiber yarn, further drawing the yarn in a plasma atmosphere and subjecting to relaxing heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Polycaproamide chips having >=3.0 relative viscosity are subjected to melt spinning, passed through a high-temperature zone and a cooling zone and directly drawn to give intermediate orientated yarn having 20X10 to 40X10 double refraction and density, which is provided with 1.0-5.0g/d tension in a plasma atmosphere under reduced pressure, further drawn at 1.2-5.0 times, drawn at a second stage or not drawn and subjected to 0-10% relaxing heat treatment to give polycaproamide fiber yarn having >=55X10 double refraction, useful as rubber-reinforcing material, etc.
