Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing a diamine, comprising the step of purifying a diamine from an aqueous solution containing a diamine salt. Specifically, the process comprises the step of adding an alkaline substance to the aqueous solution and then filtering the aqueous solution through a nanofiltration film to remove the salt and thus to obtain an aqueous diamine solution, whereby a diamine suitable as a starting material for a polyamide can be obtained by a simpler operation than a conventional extraction operation with an organic solvent.

Abstract: A method of producing lactic acid by continuous fermentation characterized by comprising filtering a liquid culture medium of a hyperpolyploid yeast having an ability to produce lactic acid through a porous membrane having an average pore diameter of 0.01 µm or more but less than 1 µm, harvesting the product from the filtrate while maintaining the unfiltered liquid in the liquid culture medium or refluxing thereto, and further adding the fermentation material to the liquid culture medium as described above. According to this method, the production yield of lactic acid by the fermentation can be remarkably elevated in a stable state over a long period of time at a low cost.

Abstract: The invention provides a method of producing a chemical product through continuous fermentation which includes filtering a culture of a microorganism or cultured cells with a separation membrane to recover a product from a filtrate and simultaneously retaining a nonfiltered fluid in, or refluxing it to, the culture, and adding fermentation materials to the culture, wherein a porous membrane having an average pore size of 0.01 µm or more to less than 1 µm is used as the separation membrane and the filtration is conducted with a transmembrane pressure difference in the range of 0.1 to 20 kPa. According to this method, the fermentation productivity of the chemical product can be largely elevated at high stability and a low cost.

Abstract: This method for producing alcohol from cellulose-containing biomass includes the following steps (1) to (8). Step (1): a step for pre-processing cellulose-containing biomass. Step (3): a step for eliminating saccharification residual solids from the saccharification processing product obtained from step (2). Step (5): a step for eliminating the alcohol fermentation microorganism from the culture liquid containing the alcohol fermentation microorganism obtained in step (4). Step (6): a step for recovering alcohol by distillation of the alcohol fermentation liquid obtained in step (5). Step (7): a step for filtering the distillation residue liquid obtained in step (6) through a reverse osmosis membrane. Step (8): a step for wastewater treatment of the retentate obtained in step (7).
