    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester of a stable quality even when a polyester waste is blended as a part of raw material with a polyester oligomer in a continuous polyester production installation. SOLUTION: In a process for continuously producing a polyester by subjecting raw materials comprising terephthalic acid/or its derivative and ethylene glycol to an esterification reaction and subjecting the obtained polyester oligomer to polycondensation, a polyester waste comprising mainly ethylene terephthalate is added to the polyester oligomer in the esterification reactor at an esterification reaction temperature of 260-280 deg.C in the final stage.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal continuous polycondensation reactor enabling polymerization reaction to be accelerated by enlarging volatilization surface area and enabling productivity to become higher. SOLUTION: This reactor is constituted as follows: a raw material supply port 2 is installed on one end of an oblong vessel 1 and a polymer output port 3 is installed on the other end and a volatile matter exhaust port 4 is installed on the top; many groups of agitating disks 5 are placed in the vessel 1 along its longitudinal direction at defined intervals of distance and a group of disks 5 is a unit where plural wire net disks or porous disks 5A all having an opening 5q in the center of rotation are coaxially placed at small intervals w of distance; the disk interval w in each group of agitating disks 5 increased as the group parts from the supply port 2.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously polymerizing a polyester, wherein the production efficiency is improved by the optimization of polymerization conditions without improving the basic process or replacing the existing reactor with a highly efficient one. SOLUTION: Provided is a method for continuously producing a polyester by esterifying starting materials being an alkylene terephthalate and/or an isomer thereof and a glycol and/or an esterifiable derivative thereof and polycondensing the obtained polyester oligomer, wherein the terminal carboxyl content of the polyester oligomer fed into the last reactor is 9-30 eq./t.
