    Abstract: Disclosed is a nucleic acid detection method capable of detecting target nucleic acids with a high degree of sensitivity, even when detecting the target nucleic acids by a sandwich hybridization assay without using a nucleic acid amplification technique or sensitization technique. The method for detecting a target nucleic acid includes: a step in which a plurality of different detection probes, capture probes immobilized on a support, and target nucleic acids or fragments thereof are sequentially or simultaneously brought into contact with each other so as to induce the hybridization of the capture probes and the target nucleic acids or the fragments thereof and the hybridization of the detection probes and the target nucleic acids or the fragments thereof and thereby bond the detection probes to the support via the capture probes and the target nucleic acids or fragments thereof; and a step in which the detection probes bonded to the support are detected.

    Abstract: The method of stirring a solution according to the present invention is a method of stirring a solution comprising contacting a selective binding substance immobilized on the surface of a carrier with a solution containing an analyte substance reactive with the selective binding substance, and mixing the fme particles or air bubbles into the solution containing an analyte substance, and moving the fine particles or air bubbles without allowing contact thereof with the selective binding substance-immobilized surface. The present invention provides a stirring method that accelerates the reaction of a carrier-immobilized selective binding substance with an analyte substance and detects a trace amount of analyte at high signal intensity and high S/N ratio. The present invention enables diagnosis and examination in the clinical setting by using a selective binding substance-immobilized carrier such as DNA chip.

    Abstract: Provided is a method for detecting a nucleic acid with which it is possible to inhibit separation of the target nucleic acid that has been hybridized with a capture probe from a substrate during the process of labeling by post-staining and to detect the target nucleic acid at a concentration that is lower than with the sodium ion method but at the same or higher sensitivity. The method for detecting the target nucleic acid comprises (1) a step for forming a double stranded nucleic acid by hybridizing the capture probe and target nucleic acid, (2) a step for bringing the resulting double stranded nucleic acid into contact with a solution containing a label and a divalent metal cation at a concentration of 10 mM or higher in order to introduce the label to the double stranded nucleic acid, and (3) a step for detecting the label that has been introduced into the double stranded nucleic acid.
