Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a nonwoven polyester fabric having soft feeling and containing a conjugate polyester fiber consisting of a sheath component composed mainly of a polybutylene terephthalate polymer and a core component composed mainly of a polyethylene terephthalate polymer. CONSTITUTION:The objective nonwoven fabric excellent in handleability and resistance to fastener phenomenon and peeling of polymers of constituent fibers is produced by using (A) a coaxial core-sheath conjugate polyester fiber consisting of a sheath component composed mainly of a polybutylene terephthalate polymer and a core component composed mainly of a polyethylene terephthalate polymer and (B) a synthetic fiber such as acetate fiber or a natural fiber such as wool and hemp. The content of the conjugate polyester fiber in the nonwoven fabric is preferably >=30%.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject fiber giving mild and deep luster and soft and smooth feeling and having an elliptic cross-section having a center axis and plural protrusions on both sides of the axis, wherein the distance between the tips of the protrusions is longest at the center part and becomes short toward both ends. CONSTITUTION:A molten polyethylene terephthalate, etc., is extruded through a spinneret having 500 nozzles each having an area of 0.16mm and composed of a combination of linear slits. The extruded polymer is taken up under cooling with cooling air blasted against the extrudate, collected in the form of a tow, drawn, imparted with mechanical crimps, heat-treated and cut to obtain the objective fiber having an elliptic cross-section having a center axis and 4-6 protrusions on each sides of the axis, wherein the distance between the opposite tips of the protrusions is longest at the center part, becomes short toward both ends of the center axis and satisfies the formula (l1 is distance between the tips of the central protrusions; l2 is distance between the tips of the protrusions at the end part of the center axis; l3 is length of the major axis of the ellipse).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber suitable as interlinings of clothes, sanitary materials, beddings, etc., by using polyethylene terephthalate-based polyester containing a specific amount of copolymerized isophthalic acid as one component and imparting a specific crimp shape and stretch performance thereto. CONSTITUTION:The objective conjugate fiber, obtained by eccentrically joining (A) a polyethylene terephthalate-based polyester containing 7-15mol% copolymerized isophthalic acid to (B) polyethylene terephthalate or other polyethylene terephthalate-based polyesters and having latent crimpability so as to provide >=55 number of developed peaks/25mm in heat treatment at 180 deg.C under no load and crimps imparted thereto so that crimps before crimp developing treatment may satisfy formulas I and II (N is the number of crimps; Y is the ratio of percentage crimp) and capable of forming nonwoven fabrics excellent in surface quality without any neps and uneven thickness.
