Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam structure having a high degree of freedom for various kinds of processings according to heating and a polyolefin resin composition having a foaming ability capable of selecting a method for processing. SOLUTION: This polyolefin resin composition is obtained by melting and kneading (A) a polyolefin resin having =100 deg.C and (C) a thermal decomposition type chemical foaming agent at a temperature not lower than the melting point Tma and lower than the decomposition starting temperature of the chemical foaming agent and then processing the kneaded material into a boardlike, a chiplike or a powdery form (D). The foam structure of the form is obtained by inserting the polyolefin resin composition into a prescribed space or joining the polyolefin resin composition to another article and thermally foaming the joined material in the state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinked polyethylene foam which is excellent in moldability, heat resistance, etc., while retaining excellent characteristics inherent in a crosslinked polyethylene foam. SOLUTION: This foam is prepared by crosslinking and foaming a resin comprising (A) a high-pressure low-density polyethylene, (B) a linear low- to medium-density polyethylene prepared by copolymerizing ethylene and a 4-12C α-olefin and having a density of 0.94 g/cm3 or lower, and (C) a high-density polyethylene having a density of 0.94 g/cm3 or higher. Suitably, the resin comprises 20-70 wt.% ingredient A, 10-75 wt.% ingredient B, and 5-70 wt.% ingredient C.
