    Abstract: A photosensitive polymer composition comprising: (1) a developer soluble polymer selected from the group consisting of (a) a soluble polymer and photopolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated compound(s), or (b) a soluble polymer having photopolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups in the polymer chain, and (2)about 0.01 to 10 parts, by weight, of a photosensitizer or photoinitiator to 100 parts, by weight, of the composition, and (3) about 0.001 to 10 parts, by weight, of a member selected from the group consisting of the ascorbic acids and their derivative to 100 parts, by weight of (1) (a) or (1) (b). These polymers are used in the preparation of printing plates, photoresistors, photocurable paints, adhesives, and other image forming materials.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform printing on curved-surface with favorable reproducibility, by a method wherein an intaglio printing plate material obtained from a printing plate obtained by sequentially laminating a photosensitive resin layer and a silicone rubber layer on a base is fixed on a flat bed, and after inking, an image is transferred to curved-surface pad, and is printed on an object to be printed. CONSTITUTION:A printing plate material having an intaglio image part obtained by using a printing plate obtained by sequentially laminating (A) a photosensitive resin layer and (B) a silicon rubber layer on a base such as an aluminum base is fixed on the flat bed. After inking, an ink image is transferred directly to the curved-surface pad, and is printed on the object, thereby performing printing on curved-surface. EFFECT:By the curved-surface printing, it is possible to print with extremely rich reproducibility and to obtain an embossed printed matter.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent developing speed from being affected by the atmosphere during storage, and to facilitate control of developing conditions by using a specified photosensitive novolak resin for a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer and a silicone rubber layer are laminated on a support in this order to form a lithographic plate requiring no dampening water. This photosensitive layer is made of a photosensitive novolak resin esterified by >=35% with naphthoquinone-1,2-diazide-5- or -4-sulfonic acid, further esterified by 30-60% with 1-20C monovalent org. acid having no activated H, and on the whole, esterified by 65-100%. Such an esterification with sulfonic acid facilitates increase of the difference between developed parts and undeveloped parts in solubility in a developing solvent, and the esterification of the residual OH groups with the org. acid can sufficiently enhance development speed and eliminates scattering of the speed, thus preventing the speed from being affected by the storage atmosphere and facilitating control of developing conditions.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To clearly print the halftone dots and whitened letters of a photosensitive resin plate by using an antihalation material consisting of a substance generating benzoyl radicals under light or heat and phenolic resin or chloroprene resin. CONSTITUTION:Benzoyl methyl ether or the like generating benzoyl radicals under light or heat and phenolic resin including that for a commercially available adhesive or commercially available chloroprene resin are dissolved in a solvent such as toluene or acetone and applied to a support, or said radical generating substance and resin are mixed with an adhesive to form an adhesive layer on a support. A photosensitive layer is then formed to manufacture a material for a photosensitive resin plate. In a plate making process the radical generating substance is decomposed with active light beams, or it is decomposed by heating when the material is manufactured. By the decomposition a benzophenone structure absorbing active light beams is formed through reaction with the resin, and an effective antihalation action is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve coatability and coated film characteristics by incorporating respectively specific pts.wt. quinone diazide compd. and polyamide and/or polyurethane into a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. quinone diazide compd. and 1-100pts.wt. polyamide and/or polyurethane are incorporated into the photosensitive layer of a waterless planographic form plate formed by coating the photosensitive layer and silicone rubber layer in this order on a base layer. Images are thereby reproduced sharply and the deflectless form plate is obtd. The coated film formability of the photosensitive layer, the resilience of the photosensitive layer and the plate wear of the printing plate are improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a continuous feed obstruction by avoiding surface stickiness without damaging image reproducibility and printing quality, by providing unevenness with specific roughness to the surface of the rubber elastic layer on a support. CONSTITUTION:Unevenness of which the center line average roughness Ra is 0.2-1.0mum and the ten-point average roughness Rz is 0.5-10mum is provided to the surface of the rubber elastic layer on a support having rubbery elasticity. The center line average roughness Ra of the rubber elastic base material for a waterless planographic plate material must not exceed 10mum and the ten-point average roughness Rz must not exceed 10mum. The waterless planographic plate material using a rubber elastic base material with rougheness exceeding said numerical values is inferior to image reproducibility because the projections of the surface of said base material are not sufficiently covered by a plate constituting element and a pattern faithful to an original can not be obtained. The upper limit of especially pref. surface roughness is 0.5mum in Ra and 5mum in Rz. On the other hand, the lower limit of the unevenness of the rubber elastic base material is determined from the point of surface stickiness and 0.2mum or more in Ra and 0.5mum or more in Rz.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a waterless lithographic printing original plate transferring ink exactly and having superior shelf stability for a long term by successively laminating a layer of polyether amide contg. a specified percentage of polyether units, a photosensitive resin layer and a silicone resin layer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A layer of polyether amide which is a polyether-polyamide block copolymer contg. 35-95wt% polyether units is formed on a support such as an Al plate or a polyester resin sheet, and a photosensitive resin layer and a silicone resin layer are successively laminated on the polyether amide layer. A negative film is brought into contact with the resulting original plate, and exposure and development are carried out. The exposed part is removed to disclose the polyether amide layer, and a waterless lithographic printing original plate faithful to the negative film is obtd.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform and sharp print image easily with low cost, by applying a resilient rubber substrate having an ink repellent material layer on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:Ink repellent material is applied onto a resilient rubber substrate so as to form a transfer material. Preferably, vulcanized natural rubber, buthyl rubber, nitrile rubber, polyurethane, etc. are employed as the resilient rubber substrate. Preferably, the ink repellent material to be formed on the surface of the resilient rubber substrate is mainly composed of silicon rubber. Coating is carried out by means of a rotary coater, for example. Preferably, the ink repellent material layer is thicker than 5mu in view of durability. The transfer material is mounted onto the surface of cylindrical metal or plastic so as to form a transfer cylinder. Consequently, a uniform and sharp print image can be obtained with high reproducibility.
