    Abstract: A polyphenylene sulfide film formed from a resin composition mainly composed of polyphenylene sulfide, characterized in that fine particles of 0.05 to 3 mu m in the mean particle size are dispersed in the film and a single particle index of said fine particle is 0.5 or more. This film is useful as dielectric film for film capacitors having stabilized initial properties by virtue of its excellent sliding properties and largely reduced electrical insulation defects. Furthermore, it is also useful as the base film for a magnetic recording medium having excellent electromagnetic transduction properties and reduced dropout by virtue of its excellent sliding properties and surface smoothness.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-retardant film having smooth surface, excellent ink absorption characteristics, transferability, clarity and excellent coating film strength by laminating films made of two types of linear polyesters having different flame-retardant element contents in three layers, and providing a specific porous layer at least on one side surface. CONSTITUTION:A flame-retardant surface porous film is formed of a laminated film having a porous layer at least on one side surface of a plastic film in which the porous film has a peak bore of a bore distribution curve of 0.06-2.0mum and the porous surface has 5 pieces/40mum or more of an undulation of 0.2mum or more of a height. Further, the plastic film of the base is formed of a polyester film in which linear polyesters A, C having 0.5-5.0wt.% of flame-retardant element and a linear polyester B having less than 0.5wt.% of flame-retardant element sequentially laminated in an order of A/B/C in the thickness direction. Thus, the surface porous film having excellent offset printability and high flame retardance is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title film having low insulation defects and an improved ability to disperse inert inorganic particles, by specifying a relationship between the particle diameter of a poly-p-phenylene sulfide powder and the apparent specific gravity of inert inorganic particles added. CONSTITUTION:Inert inorganic particles (A) of an average particle diameter of 0.01-5mum and an apparent specific gravity of 20g/l-2,000g/l (e.g., silica powder) are mixed with a resin powder based on poly-p-phenylene sulfide (B) having a particle diameter which satisfies a relationship of the formula (wherein D50 is the particle diameter of the resin powder and SG is the apparent specific gravity of the inert inorganic particles). This mixture is melt-extruded and biaxially stretched to obtain the purpose biaxially oriented polyphenylene sulfide film. The obtained film has a good ability to disperse the inert inorganic particles in it, a low coarse particle content and low insulation defects, so that it can be suitably used for capacitors.
