Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring a yarn, by which the dyed degree and shape characteristics of the yarn can automatically be detected in response to the change in the shape of the yarn, even when the yarn is a largely shape-changed yarn such as an interlaced yarn, a partially untwisted yarn, a partially drawn yarn, or a napped yarn, to provide a device for producing a yarn, characterized by controlling the quality of the yarn under the automatically detected result. SOLUTION: This method for measuring the dyed degree and/or shape characteristic of the yarn, comprising allowing the dyed yarn Y to travel, simultaneously irradiating light L containing visible light and infrared light on the yarn Y from a light-irradiating means 5, receiving the visible light component and the infrared light component contained in the light R scattered from the travelling yarn Y, detecting a dyed degree evaluation value and a shape characteristic evaluation value responded to the change in the shape of the yarn, judging a difference between the dyed degrees in response to the change in the shape of the yarn, and controlling the quality of the yarn on the judged result.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film thickness measuring method using optical interference, in which a high-precision measurement is possible with a single measuring instrument even if a measurement range for an object is wide. SOLUTION: The film thickness of an object, which is to be measured, is acquired from an interference waveform which is acquired by spectroscopy, for each wavelength, of reflection light or transmission light from the object which is irradiated with light. The number of acquired extreme values of interference waveform or amplitude of the interference waveform is compared to a preset reference value, and depending on the result, one film-thickness calculation method is selected from among a plurality of different film-thickness calculation methods, for film thickness calculation. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an instrument for yarn measurement which can automatically detect shape characteristics of a yarn and a manufacturing method for the yarn which is characterized by that quality control is performed according to the automatic detection result. SOLUTION: The yarn Y which is running is irradiated with light L and a photodetecting means 5 photodetects diffused light from the traveling yarn Y within a range of 45 to 135 deg. to the irradiation angle L; and shape characteristics corresponding to shape variation of the yarn are detected to perform the quality control.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dye an image uniformly onto each print medium while saving labor by processing a plurality of image data selectively depending on the characteristics of a dye print medium and generating print data from the results of image processing. SOLUTION: Digital image data 4 of an original image is processed at an image processing section 5 to produce print data which is fed to an ink jet dyeing section 6 in order to perform printing on a print medium. The printed medium is passed through a dryer 7 before being passed through a coloring process 8 and dyed. Based on the Metsuke and white parameter of the print medium itself, the image processing section 5 stores a plurality of optimized image processing data and calculates or selects image processing data being used actually for image signal conversion based on the white parameter and Metsuke of a print medium being dyed. Since the print data is processed at the image processing section 5, color processing can be carried out depending on the characteristics of the print medium and color difference can be suppressed among print media.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an image uniformly on each recording medium by ejecting a plurality of kinds of ink having different hue from corresponding ejecting parts based on a plurality of output image data stored in a fourth memory and employing image conversion data depending on the characteristics of the recording medium. SOLUTION: First and second memories 15, 17 store a plurality of image conversion data, multilevel halftoning image data of an input image conversion object and image conversion data, respectively, and a third memory 18 stores image data being used for image conversion at a data setting section 16 selected or formed based on the image conversion data in the memory 15. A fourth memory 20 stores multilevel halftoning image data converted through a converter 19 and a control section 21 assigns the data stored in the memory 20 to a head corresponding to a recording head 1, forms an image on a cloth 2 placed on a conveyor 3 based on a plurality of output multilevel halftoning image data and controls general operation of a dye apparatus through an incorporated electronic controller.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record a uniform image for every recording medium by outputting a plurality of output image data of many gradations corresponding to ink of each color from a value of each element of image conversion data and a value of each pixel of input image data of many gradations, and separately discharging a plurality of kinds of ink of a similar shade color of different densities. SOLUTION: A recording head 16 is set which has a plurality of heads for individually discharging a plurality of kinds of ink of a similar shade color of different densities. A control part 15 allots a plurality of output image data of many gradations stored in a third storage memory 14 to heads corresponding to the recording head 16. The plurality of output image data of many gradations are output from a converter 12 based on a value of each element of image conversion data stored in a first storage memory 11 and a value of each pixel of input image data of many gradations stored in a second storage memory 13. The recording head 16 separately discharges the plurality of kinds of ink of the similar shade color of different densities on the basis of the output image data of many gradations to a cloth 18 on a conveyor 17, forming images thereby dyeing the cloth.
