    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify measuring preparation and to make it possible to measure the flocked state of an indivisual flocked sheet, by using one support plate and supporting the feather sheet by said plate. CONSTITUTION:The titled apparatus has a support plate 1 supporting a sheet like article to be measured having flocking on the surface thereof and the wave guide plate 2 provided in opposed relation to said plate 1. Further, said apparatus is equipped with the ultrasonic wave passage 5 formed between the plates 1, 2, an ultrasonic incident means 9 for allowing an ultrasonic wave to be incident to said passage 5 and an ultrasonic level detection means 12 for detecting the level of the transmitted ultrasonic wave. Then, the flocked sheet 13 is supported by the plate 1 so as to direct the surface thereof to the side of the plate 2. Thereafter, an ultrasonic generator 6 is driven to emit an ultrasonic wave which is, in turn, guided to the interior of the passage 5 to be propagated to the direction shown by an arrow. If the level of said ultrasonic wave is received by a wave receiver 10 and detected by a receiver 11, the flocking state of the flocked sheet can be determined.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the preparation for a measurement by placing a spacer, etc., which contact the surface of a pilose sheet, without setting an ultrasonic wave path to a prescribed height. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave path 5 is formed by a weight 6, a supporting plate 1, an opposed plate 2, a spacer, and a pilose sheet 7. An ultrasonic wave incident means 11 consisting of an ultrasonic wave generator 8, a transmitter 9 and a horn 10 is provided on the opening part of the inlet side of the path 5. Also, the sheet 7 is supported by the plate 1, for instance, by a double side tape so that the surface having a fluff turns to the plate 2 side. Thereafter, when the generator 8 is driven, an ultrasonic wave is radiated from the transmitter 9, also focused by the horn 10 and led into the path 5, and propagated in the direction as indicated with an arrow. In the process of this propagation, the ultrasonic wave is attenuated in accordance with a fluff state of the sheet 7. The longer the fluff length is, and also the higher the density of the fluff is, the larger this attenuation is. Accordingly, when a level of the ultrasonic wave which has come out of the path 5 is received 12 and detected by a receiver 13, the fluff state can be known with regard to the sheet 7.
