    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved tool used in a coating work for an under platform. SOLUTION: This tool is to hold a turbine blade (10) used when coating is applied on the under platform region of at least one turbine blade (10) having a platform (14). The tool contains at least one fixing tool (32) to hold at least one turbine blade when coating is applied. The fixing tool (32) comprises a base receiving part (34) to receive the turbine blade (10); and a cover (36) for the base receiving part (34). The base receiving part (34) and the cover (36) have respective openings (62) in a shape coinciding with the shape of an under platform region to which coating is applied.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the adherence of a ceramic coating to a surface, and prolonging the service life of the coating under sever conditions at elevated temperatures. SOLUTION: A metallic surface is formed so as to be subjected to the ceramic coating. A part of the metallic surface is removed by grinding treatment of gradually reducing its strength. The surface of a metal or an intermetallic compound, particularly, a bond coated surface is formed so as to be subjected to the ceramic coating by using a method including mechanical grinding at least in two steps containing a fist step and a second step which is less aggressive than the first step. Alternatively, a single step in which the aggressiveness of the grinding in the start of the step is higher than that of the final grinding can be used. The grinding suing ceramic particles is a suitable method. The ceramic coating formed on the surface in this way exhibits an improved service life at elevated temperatures.

SOLUTION: A geseous phase deposition forming device for applying substrates with coating is provided, and this device contains plural gaseous phase deposition coaters 14, plural platers 16, a plater docking station 18 and a device for carrying the platers between the coaters and the plater docking station. A shuttle truck connects the plater docking station and coaters. The plater selectively discharged from the coater is carried to the plater docking station along the shuttle truck, where the treated substrate is taken down from the plater, and untreated substrate is placed on the plater.

The device 74 for moving the arc is arranged at the opening part of the cathode 18 and substantially generates the magnetic field stretching parallel to the evaporating face 44. The annular anode 26 is, on the inside in the radial direction of the substrate 12 arranged in the vessel, allowed to stand in a row with this.

    Abstract: A tool 10 for cleaning an anode 12 in a coating machine has a rotary brush 20 driven by a driver such as a cordless power drill 19. The rotary brush 20 and the driver 19 are connected to a support structure 16 and an adapter 14 which allows the tool 10 to be joined to a shaft 18 associated with the coating machine. The tool 10 further includes a light source 24 connected to the support structure 16 for enabling an operator to see an anode 12 as it is being cleaned.
