Abstract: The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and a method fo r conveying and operating tools into a wellbore. In one aspect, a method of performing a downhole operation in a wellbore is provided. The method includes pushing a continuous rod into the wellbore, wherein the continuous rod includes a memb er disposed therein. The method further includes positioning the continuous rod proximate at a predetermined location in the wellbore and performing the downhole operation. In yet another aspect, a system for performing a downhole operati on in a wellbore is provided.

Abstract: New wellbore milling systems and methods of their use have been developed, the milling system in one aspect including at least one mill, at least one stabilizing member connected to and above the at least one mill, and the at least one stabilizing member for maintaining position of the at least one mill for milling through the liner into the main wellbore. In certain aspects multiple spaced-apart stabilizers are used above a mill which, in one aspect, may include one or more reaming stabilizers. In one aspect the lowermost stabilizer is spaced-apart from a mill so that the stabilizer does not enter a bend portion of a liner to be milled until milling has commenced.

Abstract: The present invention discloses and claims a system for forming an opening, or window, in a downhole tubular for the subsequent formation of a lateral wellbore. In the system of the present invention, an apparatus is run into the parent wellbore which includes at least a tubular having a drill bit, a diverter such as a whipstock releasably connected to the drill bit, an anchoring device such as a packer, and a milling device. This apparatus allows for the milling of a window in the parent wellbore, and the drilling of a lateral wellbore through that window, in a single trip.

Abstract: A well comprising a primary wellbore (W) and a secondary wellbore (L) leadin g from said primary wellbore (W) wherein a juncture is formed therebetween, sa id juncture lined with a tubular member (14) extending from said primary wellbo re (W) into said secondary wellbore (L), characterised in that a stabiliser (36 , 40) is provided for, in use, stabilising a mill milling an opening in said tubular (14) into said primary wellbore (W). A method for milling an opening in a tubular in a well of the present invention, the method comprising the step of milling an opening in said tubular member whilst being stabilised or guided by said stabiliser. The invention also provides a tubular member, a mill, a stabiliser and a system for milling an opening in a tubular in a wel l of the invention.
