    Abstract: Es werden Verfahren zum Höhenausgleich von Tinte auf Substraten und Vorrichtungen, die zum Drucken geeignet sind, bereitgestellt. Eine anschauliche Ausführungsform der Verfahren umfasst das Beaufschlagen von Tinte, die auf einer ersten Oberfläche eines porösen Substrats aufgebracht ist, mit Strahlung, die von mindestens einer Blitzlichtleuchte abgegeben wird. Der Strahlungsblitz erwärmt die Tinte auf mindestens eine Viskositätsschwellwerttemperatur der Tinte, so dass die Tinte lateral auf der ersten Oberfläche fließen kann, so dass ein Höhenausgleich der Tinte erreicht wird. Die Tinte wird ausreichend rasch erwärmt, so dass eine Wärmeübertragung von Tinte auf das Substrat ausreichend gering ist während des Höhenausgleichs, so dass Tinte an der Substratgrenzfläche auf eine Temperatur unterhalb der Viskositätsschwellwerttemperatur abgekühlt wird, wodurch ein merkliches Eindringen von Tinte in das Substrat von der ersten Oberfläche aus verhindert wird.

    Abstract: A printing system and method combine conventional print and reusable print media functionality in a shared stand-alone system to allow a user flexibility in deciding whether to print a temporary document or an archival permanent document. The system integrates and shares functionality to reduce manufacturing and operating costs, as well as to reduce the device's footprint. Commonality may include a common printhead shuttling mechanism (traversing carriage) and portions of the mechanism for moving paper. Pre-conditioning and printzone conditioning stations may also be shared to achieve precondition heating and/or erasing of media sheets prior to printing and maintaining of an elevated temperature during printing. In embodiments, separate feed trays are provided for each media sheet type.

    Abstract: Disclosed are ionographic imaging apparatuses and processes. A further embodiment is directed to an apparatus and process for sequentially forming and developing primary color images on an imaging means to form a full color image, followed by transferring the fully formed image to a substrate, wherein the developers employed contain a release agent.
