Abstract:
A maintenance system and method for maintaining an imaging member of an imaging device includes a pre-cleaning device to clean the imaging member; an applicator to apply release agent to the imaging member; a metering device to meter release agent on the imaging member; a reservoir to remotely store release agent; and a pump to supply the applicator with release agent from the reservoir. The saturation level of the applicator is monitored and maintained within a predetermined range. The applicator, pre-cleaning device and metering device may be independently actuated to engage the imaging member. Release agent collected by the pre-cleaning device and/or metering device may be recycled. Debris collected by the pre-cleaning device and/or metering device may be stored and/or removed.

An image receiving member 200 in the form of a roller or drum comprises a cylindrical wall 204 having an outer surface 204a that is receptive to phase change ink and annular support members 216, 220, 224; a heater 240 is positioned within the image receiving member 200. The image receiving member 200 preferably includes three annular support members 216, 220, 224 and end caps 208, 212; the annular support members 216, 220, 224 may be C-shaped rings or may be machined from the interior surface 204b of the cylindrical wall 204. Image forming apparatus including an image receiving member 200 and a transfix roller having a non cylindrical outer shape are also disclosed.

A system for applying a liquid to a support surface in an imaging apparatus comprises an application surface that applies liquid to the support surface; and a filter positioned in relation to the application surface such that liquid removed from the support surface passes through the filter to the application surface. The filter includes a low-friction, low-fiber shed permeable layer in contact with the application surface.

SOLUTION: A peristaltic pump mechanism is provided with: a first gear 32 equipped with teeth composed in a way that they are engaged and latched with a driving source; a first pair of occluded members 34 composed in a way that it compresses a first transportation tube against an occlusion surface in which each of the occluded members 34 is installed on a first driving shaft 38 and one end of the first driving shaft 38 is installed on the first gear 32; and a supporting element 40 which is engaged with an opposite end of each of the driving shafts 38. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide colored polysiloxane which is suited for use of stripping liquid or the like for releasing phase inversion hot melt ink printer, and to provide a method of producing the colored polysiloxane.SOLUTION: The polysiloxane is derivatized with the formula of an anthraquinone part by reacting and adjusting amine functionalized polysiloxane and anthraquinone dye having a reactive substituent on amine during heating in the presence of a copper catalyst and in the presence of a solvent containing water and tetrahydrofuran.
