Abstract:
The present invention discloses an apparatus for treating patient body or an organ thereof, especially his/her head and neck, by controllably maneuvering said treated organ, comprising; cradle adapted for holding said treated organ stably and comfortably; and, a maneuverable platform upon which said cradle rests, comprising maneuvering means adapted for rotating the platform in the Sagittal, Coronal, Horizontal planes or in any combination of the planes thereof for a predetermined duration; wherein said maneuver of said organ is characterized by parameters selected from the Allowed Movements. It is especially in the scope of the invention wherein the treated organ is maneuvered in a lobular three dimensional manner. The invention also discloses methods for treating patient body or an organ thereof by this apparatus; methods for decreasing HIT, MIDAS, VAS/NRS, NDI and EPS, and a method for increasing (S)MFA.
Abstract:
A massaging apparatus which is capable of strongly pressing and alleviating the stiffness of the muscle safely without causing displacement of the body of a user or the massaging apparatus by it self is provided. The massaging apparatus is formed with an obliquely projecting projection toward the root of the neck of the user when the user places the head in a stable manner in the lying-down position, so that it has an optimum structure and shape for finding and alleviating the stiffness of the pinpoint located at a deep portion at the boundary portion between the shoulder and a neck, which is specifically effective to give a massage for alleviating the stiffness.
Abstract:
A neck jet pillow for a spa or whirlpool tub removably mountable. The pillow has a soft membrane area occupying a central portion thereof, a first mounting member fixedly mountable onto a fluid jet, a second mounting member fixedly attached to the pillow and slidably and removably mountable onto the first mounting member, and a hole in the second mounting member coinciding with the membrane area whereby the jet can direct a fluid stream onto the backside of the membrane area. The first and second mounting members, when mounted together and onto the pillow and jet, define a water-tight cavity there between having a jet inlet and a discharge opening whereby spent fluid from the jet is discharged downward into the tub or spa. The mounting members may be sliding members.
Abstract:
A chair-type massager is provided which includes a chair body for use as a support member for supporting a user's body and a massage apparatus located in a seat back of the chair body. The massage apparatus includes a base member and a pair of massage units, right and left, provided on the base member. Each massage unit has a movable element. The movable element is provided with a tilt member. A treatment member is attached to the tilt member. The tilt member is driven by means of an airbag. The movable element is rotated around a shaft by means of a motor so that the treatment member can move along a curved surface of the user's body.
Abstract:
In a positioning device, expandable bodies which expand and contract by air pressure are disposed at opposite sides of a movable member in its moving direction, the movable member being able to reciprocate, and a valve device for holding the expandable bodies in their extended states by valve-closing action is provided in an air path device which supplies air from an air supplying device to the expandable bodies. In a massager including this positioning device, the movable member is movably guided in up and down directions by a guide member provided in a back rest of a chair body, and the movable member is provided with a massage element which is projected from a surface of the back rest and is abutted against a body of a person sitting on the chair body. The movable member is moved by supply and discharge of air to and from the air supplying device through the air path device to the expandable bodies provided at the opposite sides of the movable member in its moving direction, and the movement position of the movable member is adjusted by the valve devices of the air path device.
Abstract:
An apparatus useful in combination with a pump source of recirculated tub water for discharging a water stream for massaging a user's body characterized by a flexible water permeable membrane, preferably of terry cloth, mounted in front of a discharge orifice. In use, water stream discharged from the orifice impacts against the rear face of the membrane while the membrane's front face is held against and massages the user's body. The permeability of the membrane permits water to pass therethrough to wet and lubricate the user's skin. The water permeable membrane spreads the impact area to thus provide a softer more pleasing massage effect while minimizing the amount of unwanted splash. The apparatus may also include a shower outlet for selectively discharging a shower spray.
Abstract:
A head rest assembly is provided for use in conjunction with a bathing fixture such as a hydro-massage whirlpool. A pillow is provided which can be easily connected and supported by the jet nozzle assembly. A support bracket is partially enclosed in the pillow for connection with the nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly has a living hinge feature which allows adaptation to various curvatures of the tub wall. A magnet can be connected to a bracket and a reed switch is connected to the nozzle assembly which serves as a safety feature.
Abstract:
A unit for use in a tub or spa to provide a dry hydro-massage of the neck and shoulders. The unit mounts to the tub edge and includes a diaphragm which sealingly covers a discharge jet such that the fluid will flex the diaphragm into massaging relationship with the user's body. The water is exhausted into the tub through a secondary port below the water line such that dry hydro-therapy is provided by the unit. The unit is mounted to the side wall of the tub spa. The inflation of the diaphragm is controlled by pressure regulating ports formed within the housing to control the exhaust of fluid from the jet chamber. In one embodiment, the ports are variable to vary the inflation pressure of the diaphragm. With the unit mounted to the tub the user may remain seated within the spa while the unit provides a dry hydro-massage of the neck and upper back normally positioned above the water line. The diaphragm unit is adapted to be utilized with various jet nozzles.
Abstract:
A pair of vibrators for vibrating the neck of a person resting on a neck pillow are mounted on such pillow in mutually spaced relation each on a corresponding side of the neck of the person. A pair of face pillows are mounted on the neck pillow for supporting the face of a person lying on his side on the neck pillow. Each of the face pillows is positioned alongside a corresponding one of the vibrators with the vibrators interposed between the face pillows.
