Abstract:
An improvement in the electrolytic treatment of wastewater is described in which the reduction of oxygen on an activated carbon cathode is employed to form hydrogen peroxide, which in turn serves to oxidize organic carbon pollutants in the wastewater.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device consisting of a reactor facility for the electrolytic treatment, with relation to flow dynamics, of fluid or gaseous media or mixtures of the two. In the context of this invention, electrolytic treatment with relation to flow dynamics means the combination of the production of at least one rotating fluid eddy and the eversion of the eddy by means of electrolysis taking place in the reactor facility. The guided fluid eddy is efficiently treated, cleaned and disinfected by this combination in the reactor facility according to the invention. The invention further relates to a method for the electrolytic treatment, with relation to flow dynamics, of fluid media in the reactor facility according to the invention.
Abstract:
The invention provides a device to purify waste water by a two-step procedure containing an electroflotation unit and an electrical dis-infection unit integrated into the same overall construction. Characteristic to the construction is that the said two units have a common anode and two individual cathodes which can be in different potentials in respect to the common anode.
Abstract:
A fluid treatment apparatus and related methods involving the use of replaceable treatment cartridges that include a treatment media, wherein the treatment cartridge is electrically enhanced to form regions of differing polarity within the cartridge. The treatment cartridge can include a pair of fixed polarity conductors that can be electrically connected to a power source so as to induce regions of differing polarity within the cartridge. The fluid treatment apparatus can be utilized to treat liquids including aqueous solutions as well as gases such as an air supply by exposing the fluid to the regions of differing polarity.
Abstract:
According to an aspect, a hydrogen-containing water generating electrode includes: a positive electrode that is a tubular conductor and includes a plurality of openings in a side portion; an insulator that is provided on an outer peripheral portion of the positive electrode and is in contact with the positive electrode; and a negative electrode that is provided on an outer peripheral portion of the insulator, is a tubular conductor in contact with the insulator, and includes a plurality of openings in a side portion.
