Abstract: A fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded article includes (A) carbon fibers, (B) graphite and (C) a thermoplastic resin, wherein the carbon fibers (A), the graphite (B) and the thermoplastic resin (C) are contained in amounts of 1 to 30 parts by weight, 1 to 40 parts by weight and 30 to 98 parts by weight, respectively, relative to 100 parts by weight, of the carbon fibers (A), the graphite (B) and the thermoplastic resin (C), the weight average fiber length of the carbon fibers (A) is 0.3 to 3 mm and the specific gravity of the molded article is 1.1 to 1.9 g/cm3. The fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded article has excellent bending strength and heat conductivity.

Abstract: A thermosetting polymer formulation includes: 40 to 90 volume percent of a thermosetting polymer system; 10 to 40 volume percent, preferably 20 to 35 volume percent, preferably 20 to 30 volume percent, of a plurality of hexagonal boron nitride platelets having a mean particle diameter of 5 to 20 micrometers, preferably 8 to 15 micrometers, and a D10 particle diameter of 3 to 7 micrometers, preferably 3 to 5 micrometers, and a D90 particle diameter of 20 to 30 micrometers, preferably 25 to 30 micrometers; a total of 0.01 to 10 volume percent of a coupling agent, an impact modifier, a curing agent, a defoamer, a colorant, a thickening agent, a release agent, an accelerator, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, wherein the volume percentages are based on the total volume of the formulation.

Abstract: In one aspect, composite build materials for use with a 3D printing system are described herein. In some embodiments, a composite build material described herein comprises a carrier ink comprising a curable material; and pigment particles dispersed in the carrier ink, wherein the pigment particles comprise mica. In some cases, the carrier ink is present in the composite build material in an amount of about 80-98% by weight, and the curable material comprises one or more species of monomeric and/or oligomeric (meth)acrylates. Additionally, in some instances, the pigment particles are present in the composite build material in an amount of about 2-8% by weight and comprise up to about 85% by weight mica, based on the total weight of the pigment particles. The pigment particles, in some cases, can also comprise TiO2 and/or Fe2O3.

Abstract: Polymeric compositions having improved mechanical properties are disclosed. The compositions comprise a cross-linkable polycarbonate resin having a photoactive group derived from a benzophenone, and a reinforcing filler. The composition contains from about 1 wt % to about 70 wt % of the reinforcing filler, which is most desirably in the form of glass fibers. Articles formed from the compositions have improved flexural modulus, flame resistance, and chemical resistance.

Abstract: Articles can be formed with either a dried layer or a dried pattern of a non-aqueous photocurable composition on one or both sides of a substrate. This composition includes a photocurable component and dispersed carbon-coated metal particles present in an amount of at least 10 weight % based on the total weight of the non-aqueous photocurable composition. The dispersed carbon-coated metal particles have a median diameter of less than 0.6 μm, and a particle dispersing agent that has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 2,000 and up to and including 10,000 and comprises nitrogen-containing units, the median diameter being determined using a dynamic light scattering method. Such articles can be used for various purposes including the formation of electrically-conductive grids, and can be incorporated into various devices including those having touch screen displays.
