    Abstract: An integrating sphere photometer spectral response measurement method and system. The system comprises an integrating sphere photometer and three or more reference light sources having different peak wavelengths. The integrating sphere photometer consists of an integrating sphere (1) and a broadband photodetector (2), and the broadband photodetector (2) is mounted on the sphere wall of the integrating sphere (1). Emergent light of the reference light sources is incident to the integrating sphere (1); the total spectral radiation flux Pi(λ) (i=1, 2, . . . n) received by an integrating sphere photometer system is acquired; the response Mi (i=1, 2, . . . n) of a photometer of mixed light in the integrating sphere (1) is read by means of the broadband photodetector (2); an equation set is established; and the spectral responsivity Srel(λ) of the integrating sphere photometer is obtained by means of numerical solution.

    Abstract: An optical sensing module, including a frame, a light sensing element, and a diffusion element is provided. The light sensing element is disposed on the frame. The diffusion element is connected to the frame and is disposed above the light sensing element. In a first sensing mode, ambient light passes through the diffusion element before received by the light sensing element to make the optical sensing module to obtain light intensity of the ambient light. In a second sensing mode, the optical sensing module rotates around a first rotation axis to make the light sensing element face a display surface of the display device for receiving image light of the display surface so that the optical sensing module obtains brightness or chromaticity of the display device. A display device having this optical sensing module is also provided.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the determination of geometric parameters of a laser beam, such as, for example, the beam diameter or the focus diameter. The apparatus includes a device for the emission of a laser beam into an active region, a detector arrangement, which can be positioned in the active region, a device for the provision of a relative movement between the laser beam and the detector arrangement, and a device for the registration and evaluation of a temporally varying signal of the detector arrangement. The detector arrangement includes at least one light guide, at least two flight-diffusing structures, and at least one light-sensitive sensor. The light guide has a light-emitting surface and a light-conducting region, with an elongated shape. The at least two light-diffusing structures are essentially extended along two different directions.

    Abstract: An ambient light sensor system ma be mounted in alignment with a window in a display cover layer associated with a display in an electronic device. The ambient light sensor system may have a light diffuser layer and an infrared-light-blocking filter. The light diffuser layer may have a polymer layer with embedded light-scattering desiccant particles. An ambient light sensor in the ambient light sensor system may receive ambient light through the light diffuser layer and the infrared-light-blocking filter. The infrared-light-blocking filter may have a polymer substrate and a thin-film interference filter formed from a stack of inorganic thin-film layers on the polymer substrate. Light-scattering desiccant particles may be incorporated into the polymer substrate of the infrared-light-blocking filter. Desiccant may also be incorporated into ambient light sensor support structures.

    Abstract: An electronic device display may have a display cover layer. The cover layer may have a border that has an opaque masking material with an opening defining a light window for an ambient light sensor. The ambient light sensor may have a photodetector mounted in a light sensor housing. A molded clear plastic light diffuser may be used to diffuse light for the ambient light sensor that is passing through the light window. The light diffuser may reduce directionality in the ambient light sensor. The light diffuser may have an array of molded protrusions such as flat-topped cones. Alignment features may be formed in the light sensor housing and the light diffuser. Clips and other molded structures for attaching the light sensor to a mounting bracket or other structures may be molded into the light diffuser and light sensor housing.
