    Abstract: A coating method for coating parts in a dip-spin process is provided. The parts to be coated are dipped into a coating liquid and then centrifuged in at least one planetary basket arrangement in a planetary centrifuge. The planetary centrifuge includes a main rotor rotating about a main rotor axis of rotation and at least one planetary basket arrangement rotates about its planetary axis of rotation. Also, the planetary axis of rotation is arranged eccentrically on the main rotor. The at least one planetary basket arrangement can include a plurality of planetary baskets rotatably arranged about the planetary rotation axis of the at least one planetary basket arrangement and the planetary basket arrangement is rotated during a centrifuging operation.

    Abstract: A mechanism for applying a predetermined pattern of material onto an elongate tubular substrate includes a first motor, an engagement member rotatable by the first motor and configured to reversibly grasp an elongate member, such that rotation of the first motor rotates the elongate member around its longitudinal axis, a fluid dispenser configured to dispense a fluid having a first, flowable state, the fluid dispenser including an elongate dispensing conduit having a distal end having an orifice, the orifice configured to be placed adjacent a surface of the elongate member, a second motor configured to move at least one of the elongate member or the elongate dispensing conduit such that the orifice changes its relative orientation along the longitudinal axis of the elongate member, and wherein the distal end of the elongate dispensing conduit is configured to apply a bias on the surface of the elongate member.

    Abstract: A method, device, and system for configuring a coating machine for coating a surface of a product using a coating substance are provided. The method includes determining a value associated with one or more parameters from a plurality of parameters associated with the coating operation. The method also includes predicting a value associated with at least one attribute associable with the coating substance based on the determined value associated with the one or more parameters using a trained machine learning model. The method includes configuring the coating machine for coating the surface using the coating substance based on the predicted value associated with the at least one attribute associable with the coating substance. The method also includes initiating a coating operation at the configured coating machine for coating the surface of the product using the coating substance.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to chemical sensors based on the non-covalent surface modification of graphene with compounds containing hydrazine or hydroxylamine functional groups for the detection of aldehyde and ketone-bearing analytes. In an embodiment, a medical device is included having a graphene varactor included a graphene layer and a self-assembled monolayer disposed on an outer surface of the graphene layer through electrostatic interactions between a partial positive charge on hydrogen atoms of one or more hydrocarbons of the self-assembled monolayer and a π-electron system of graphene. The self-assembled monolayer can include one or more compounds having one or more hydrazine groups or hydroxylamine groups, substituted hydrazine or hydroxylamine groups, or derivatives thereof. Other embodiments are also included herein.

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a laminate which has a substrate, an intermediate layer, and a water-repellent layer laminated in this order, and has excellent abrasion resistance. The present invention is a laminate comprising: a substrate (s) having an anti-reflection layer; an intermediate layer (c) placed on the anti-reflection layer side of the substrate; and a water-repellent layer (r), in this order, wherein the intermediate layer (c) is a cured layer of a mixture composition (cc) of an organosilicon compound (C), or a vapor deposition layer of the organosilicon compound (C), the organosilicon compound (C) contains a silicon atom together with an amino group and/or an amine skeleton, the water-repellent layer (r) is a cured layer of a mixture composition (ca) of an organosilicon compound (A) in which a monovalent group having a perfluoropolyether structure is bound to a silicon atom through a linking group or without a linking group located therebetween, and a hydrolyzable group is bound to the silicon atom through a linking group or without a linking group located therebetween, and the laminate satisfies the following requirement (1), (1) a water sliding angle is not larger than 50° after a abrasion resistance test in which a 200 g load per 1.5 cm×1.5 cm area is applied to a surface on the water-repellent layer (r) side of the laminate and the surface is rubbed 20,000 times.
