A decorative cushion includes a relatively rigid, e.g., foam, inner core and a relatively soft filled portion comprising fill material enclosed in a flexible cover. The filled portion is positioned adjacent a first end of the inner core and may have a compressibility level that is less a compressibility level of the inner core. The first end of the inner core may have a concave contour, and the filled portion may mount or seat in the contour. A first cushion cover is sized for fully receiving the inner core and the filled portion and configured to maintain the position of the filled portion relative to the inner core. A second, decorative cushion cover is sized for fully receiving the first cushion cover containing the inner core and the filled portion. An electric massage unit may be mounted to the inner core at a location spaced from the filled portion. The inner core provides support to the user, while the filled portion allows cushion to be decoratively arranged by the user.

An orthopedic stretcher allows for alternately applying flexion and extension forces to a patient's leg. The orthopedic stretcher includes a base with a first leg pivotally connected thereto. A second leg support for engaging the patient's lower leg is linked to the first leg support. A first motor moves the first leg support and second leg support relative to the base, and a second motor moves the second leg support relative to the first leg support. The first motor and second motor apply an extension force or flexion force to the patient's leg to bend the patient's leg.

The present invention relates to a microcurrent generator capable of generating microcurrents by utilizing a gap between different metals and obtaining a healing effect by using the generated microcurrents. The present invention relates to a configuration of generating microcurrents by forming a gap (G) between a first metal (10) and a second metal (20) made from different materials.

Implantable devices and/or sensors can be wirelessly powered by controlling and propagating electromagnetic waves in a patient's tissue. Such implantable devices/sensors can be implanted at target locations in a patient, to stimulate areas such as the heart, brain, spinal cord, or muscle tissue, and/or to sense biological, physiological, chemical attributes of the blood, tissue, and other patient parameters. The propagating electromagnetic waves can be generated with sub-wavelength structures configured to manipulate evanescent fields outside of tissue to generate the propagating waves inside the tissue. Methods of use are also described.

An apparatus having an upper frame adapted to at least partially encircle a person and including a lower frame and two double scissor mechanisms for coupling the upper frame to the lower frame, wherein the distance between the upper frame and the lower frame can be varied by adjusting the double scissor mechanisms, and the walker is raised or lowered. Scissor lift assemblies housed in the lower frame, each powered by a motor or compressor, raise and lower each double scissor mechanism.

The position difference calculation unit calculates a position difference every time when a first time period elapses. The determination unit determines an error when the position difference generated during the first time period is a first threshold or higher, or when the feedback current value keeps a first current value or higher for a second time period or longer.

An assist wear item is worn on a portion of a living body and has an inner surface brought into contact with the portion. The assist wear item includes assisting actuators, contact sensors, and a controller. Each assisting actuator is driven to expand and contract. The assisting actuators are linearly arranged along an expansion/contraction direction of a muscle at the portion. Each contact sensor detects a contact with an outer surface of the assist wear item. If the controller receives a detection result indicating a first contact from a first contact sensor among the contact sensors and receives a detection result indicating a second contact from a second contact sensor within a first time period after reception of the detection result indicating the first contact, the controller increases or decreases a driving power of expansion/contraction driving of an assisting actuator corresponding to the second contact sensor.

A device for the therapeutic treatment and/or training of the lower extremities of a human having driven and controlled movement devices which are connected to a stationary frame and comprise holding members for fastening of one extremity. The holding members can be moved independently of one another along walking trajectories, wherein the movement devices each comprise a pivot arm pivotable into different elevations, the pivot arm being rotatably connected to one single sled on a linear track. A first rotational drive is attached to a single sled and is connected to the pivot arm for changing the elevation of the respective holding member. The pivot arm comprises a second rotational drive for changing the inclination of the respective holding member and the sled is connected to a linear drive for changing the longitudinal position of the respective holding member.
