Abstract: A filter system for filtering a fluid is provided with a filter housing that has a housing top part and a housing bottom part arranged along a housing axis of the filter housing. An inlet socket is arranged at the housing top part for supplying a fluid to be filtered. An outlet socket is arranged at the housing top part for discharging the fluid. A filter element is provided with a filter bellows arranged about a longitudinal axis of the filter element. The filter element, installed inside the filter housing, fluidically separates a raw fluid side from a clean fluid side. A central element is attached to the filter housing and extends along the housing axis. The central element is separate from the filter element and projects into an interior of the filter element. A strainer filter is arranged at the central element.

Abstract: A filter device may include a filter housing with a filter housing pot and a cover screwable onto the filter housing pot, and an annular filter element arranged in the filter housing. The annular filter element may be connected to the cover via a first thread, which may have a dome protruding centrally and axially from an upper end disc of the annular filter element, with an outer thread interrupted by free passages, and hollow cylindrical spring elements, which may protrude axially from the cover and on which an inner thread portion designed to complement the outer thread may be arranged. Each inner thread portion may extend over a longer circumferential portion than one of the free passages. The first thread may be designed running counter to a second thread arranged between the filter housing pot and the cover.

A full tab may extend a first axial distance from a bottom surface of one of the two arcuate shoulder segments at a circumferential position in between the two opposite lateral slots, and a partial tab may extend a second axial distance less than the first axial distance from a bottom surface of the other of the two arcuate shoulder segments at a circumferential position on an opposite side of the lateral slots from the full tab.

Abstract: A filter apparatus and filter element therefore are provided. The filter apparatus includes a filter head including an inlet port, a main flow outlet port and a drain flow outlet port. The filter element includes a ring of filter media defining an internal cavity. The filter element defines a main flow passage and a drain flow passage through the internal cavity. Each flow passage has an inlet on a clean side of the filter media directly fluidly communicating with the internal cavity. The main flow passage is fluidly coupled to the main flow outlet port. The drain flow passage (or air bleed passage) is fluidly coupled to the drain flow outlet port and includes (i) a restriction 154 sized large enough to allow air flow and small enough to prevent substantial liquid flow and (ii) a check valve 912 limiting flow to a single direction. The filter media separates the inlet port from the main flow and drain flow outlet ports.

Abstract: A filtration system is described. The filtration system includes a filter housing having a central tube and a replaceable filter element. The central tube includes a gasket that plugs a passage from the dirty side of the filter element to the clean side of the filter element when the filter element is installed in an operational position. The gasket includes an integrated drain extending through the gasket. The gasket is integrated into the central tube and stays in place when the filter element is removed (e.g., during replacement of the filter element). The removal of the filter element opens the drain to allow for the draining of the fluid from the housing to the tank. The gasket is reusable and does not need to be replaced with each filter element replacement.
