Abstract: A coating composition for application to a substrate utilizing a high transfer efficiency applicator is provided herein. The coating composition includes monomeric, oligomeric, or polymeric compounds having a number average molecular weight of from about 400 to about 20,000 and having a free-radically polymerizable double bond. The coating composition further includes a photo initiator. The coating composition has an Ohnesorge number (Oh) of from about 0.01 to about 12.6. The coating composition has a Reynolds number (Re) of from about 0.02 to about 6,200. The coating composition has a Deborah number (De) of from greater than 0 to about 1730.

Abstract: A formulation based on two components, which, when added to items produced with epoxy vinyl ester or unsaturated polyester resin, provides the formulation with electric charge dissipation and/or antistatic characteristics, maintaining the mechanical characteristics thereof and the possibility of dyeing the material in all of the possible colour ranges includes a first component which is an active substance which is an ionic salt that allows ion mobility. The cation is a compound based on the (R4)N,N,N-trialkyl-alkyl-ol-ammonium species, as it is or derivatised on the OH group, and a system that supports said active substance. This additive or formulation added to epoxy vinyl ester or unsaturated polyester resin can be used in the production of agglomerated stone, gel coat, sheet moulding composite or bulk moulding composite.

The resultant roofing membrane provides increased weathering resistance.

Abstract: The present invention provides a moisture-curing sealant comprising a) at least one silane-functional polymer and b) at least one catalyst for the crosslinking of the silane-functional polymer, said sealant being free of organotin compounds and having, in the cured state, a secant modulus at 100% elongation and 23° C., determined to ISO 8339, of less than 0.4 MPa and a resilience at 100% elongation, determined to ISO 7389, of greater than 70%. The sealant is especially suitable as a construction sealant of the 25LM class according to DIN EN ISO 11600, especially as a facade sealant, or as a sealant according to ASTM C719 Class 50.

Abstract: A new light protective package including a monolayer which includes treated TiO2 particles at high concentration levels of 6 wt % or higher of the monolayer, more preferably greater than 7 wt % of the monolayer, even more preferably greater than 8 wt. % of the monolayer, wherein the monolayer protects the food within the package from both light and physical damage. The monolayer has superior light protection properties while maintaining mechanical properties. The monolayer has a light protection factor (“LPF”) value of greater than 25, preferably greater than 30, more preferably greater than 40 or even more preferably greater than 50. The treated TiO2 material can be dispersed and processed in package production processes by use of incorporation with a masterbatch, and preferably processed into a package using blow molding methods.

Abstract: Unique 3-PPB monobenzoate analogs useful as plasticizers in polymeric dispersions, such as plastisols, melt compounds, and adhesives among other applications. The analogs are structurally similar to and/or derived from 3-phenylpropyl benzoate and heretofore were not known for use in industrial applications, particularly not as a plasticizer in polymeric applications. Depending on the application, the advantages rendered by the use of the inventive monobenzoate analogs include, among other things, excellent solvating properties and rheology, low viscosity and significantly improved viscosity over time, comparable or improved Tg suppression, set and open times, as well as health, safety and environmental advantages, over traditional plasticizers.
